Ugh, Again FA? :T by SpikedKanine
FA's been down AGAIN for like 3 days. ._.
I try-- I really do, I don't complain much about FA's 9000 problems since the site....MOSTLY works... but...It's pretty aggravating when the site is down and I have a raffle winner to announce AND an auction winner to announce and I get the payment and get into contact with the winners since the site's all LOCKED UP.
It's not even like I put all my eggs in one basket...I'm active on here, InkBunny, SoFurry and DeviantArt. But I only have like 40 watchers on IB, SF and here each. I have 200 watchers on DA and none of them care if I open commissions. LOL
FA is just the ONLY place I actually get commissions from, which is frustrating since it's the most handicapped site.
Tho IDK, Maybe I could try getting an advertisement space on SoFurry...?
Since advertisement spaces are the only way I got commissions on FA in the first place...x_x
I might also be forced to start using my business email for commissions on FA simply because the website keeps breaking it's ass with every blow of the wind, which is fairly fucking ridiculous.
BUT I GUESS THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN NO ONE WANTS TO GO TO OTHER FURRY WEBSITES. OTL
Ugh.
Just ugh.
It's funny because I wouldn't care that much if this wasn't my only income. LOL

If the site goes AWOL for a month or two like it did a year or so ago then everyone would suddenly flock to here, SoFurry, InkBunny. :/ And then maybe I'd have a chance on websites that aren't melting from the inside out.
Thank You. ; v ; I also hoped that I'd get enough of a following on FA so that if FA does break it's ass for a month or so that when everyone did a mass exodus I'd have enough of a following to still get income from the various other sites I'm on.

The stupidity lies not ALL in the FA administration, but the users as well. FA one time was down for months and the users flocked back with the utter blind loyalty of an Apple user. I hate to quote a Biblical phrase, but here it is apropos: "A dog returns to its own vomit"

I hate FA for simple reasons;
- It barely works
- It looks ugly
- It's slow and tedious
- It's beyond corrupt, recently someone who ban evaded got away with it because they're pally with dragoneer...
- It's been 5 years theres no updates and never will be.
- Mass exodus or not furries are stupid and will stick to FA for nostalgia and whine about it.
Im happy here and on tumblr, like you said DA is dead.

I've just been rolling my eyes and putting up with it since it was my pay more or less.But....when stuff like THIS happens...It's just....ugh. x_x
DeviantArt is far from dead-- it's just hard to get commissions on there because LITERALLY everyone and their grandmother is there so It's hard to get any real recognition.
Tumblr is ok for reblogging the funnies...But for having an art gallery I find it absolutely obnoxious and tedious.
That and Tumblr was made to be an all around-blog service. Not really a gallery per say...tho you can get some themes can closely emulate it...It's....just not the same..xD

Yanno, I think the only way that Dragoneer will ever even attempt to have that site fixed is if there's a real, actual mass exodus from his site to another one. I mean, he and his admins do go into a frantic "damage control" mode whenever a new site pops up and proclaims itself to be a superior alternative to FA. Unfortunately, though, I think that the only way that a real mass exodus is going to occur, is if FA becomes broken often enough that it's not worth people's time or effort to try to use it... and that's going to hurt a lot of artists who depend upon it.
