Hello all! I have returned and I bring you stories of plenty! Overall, the con was a blast (no pun intended….. space…. rockets…… GET IT? HAHA FUNNY) and I really enjoyed myself as did my whole group. Gonna try and split this up into ordered sections.

Socializing

I actually talked to a lot of people this year! I don’t know if anyone remembers- but last year I was terribly shy and didn’t chat with close to anyone except my group. I was nervous this year but a hell of a lot better. It also helped that I had some people come up to me and go “Wait I remember you” or “Where is that mask you made last year?” I’m not a fursuiter and most everyone who goes/went to FAU doesn’t know who I am via my art, but to have some people remember me was super cool <3

Fursuiting

I wasn’t in full fursuit- however I was in my partial without head (I don’t have a head yet). That consists of armlets/paws, leggings (pants kinda), shoes, and tail. I made it all except my tail was made by Moonstar. Shoes were amazing (they need touch up repair now though), leggings were good BUT I have to fix them- they kept falling XD I need to attach them to different leggings underneath as the leggings falling caused the fur to droop. Armlets are great but I didn’t wear them most of the time- I am sooooo not used to them XD I wear the leggings- I get a little warm. The second I put on the armlets? INSTA SWEAT MY ASS OFF. Also trying to adjust myself (skirt, tail, leggings) with them on was haaaard. Not being able to touch things with my hands….. also haaaarrrrd. Also I am already thinking of remaking my paws- because I am crazy like that. It’s because I saw 5 finger versions AND silicon paw pads…. *WANT*. Moonstar fursuited in both her full suit and partial. She was the dancing and music playing cotton candy folf. She also wore the ‘ER MAH GERD’ shirt and red shorts.

Furry Feud Panel

Monstar, Arthur, Comet, and I hosted the Furry Feud panel as we’ve been talking about for a while (also Warren but he wasn’t on the list. He helped a whole hell of a lot too!) And guess what? It went GREAT! Oh man….. I was so happy. It went very smoothly. But it was soooooo scary seeing people in the room 15 minutes before the panel started XD Also nerves + fur = SWEAT. Oops~ But we had everything ready. The only bad thing was a lack of chairs which was taken cared of super fast by the hotel (which I love them forever for that and just in general- they are awesome). We planned 3 games but got to 2. But to be honest, I figured only 2 would be played. We were allowed to go over a little bit as well. People were really excited and seemed to dig it. I was nervous at first but got into it pretty quickly. Moonstar was amazing at being the head judge and working the board and just being adorable. My judges were fabulous and so cooperative. And dude, Warren, THANK YOU for all your help. We didn’t add you on the list because I wasn’t going to ask you for help as I just met you, but man, we should have cause you rocked it with everyone. Thank you my panelist. Thank you to everyone who surveyed, and thank you con goers for coming <3 You made us all happy furs. We are VERY excited to do it again and at any other cons we go to.

Arthur also told me he heard people saying good things about the panel. We have some tweaking to do to make it better for next time, and some good ideas for prizes as well. Also, one thing we did hear was that even though it was 18+ we didn’t go too adult. We will try to spice things up next year ^ ^. Also heard someone mention if we would make an FA page for the event. No, but we are thinking about making a twitter account. We DO have an email for suggestions. If anyone attended and wants to email suggestions and feedback I’ll give you the email.

Furries Got Talent

Moonstar was also a part of Furries Got Talent. Along with Von and company (I will get your FA handles at some point – not sure if real names are ok). Furries Got Talent was FAU’s FIRST talent show! The mask (Von) was your host and Moonstar was a judge along with company. Had some GREAT performers! Dancers, singers, entertainers, lotta talent! Out of the people I know: Nessie danced, Arthur did improve with Von, and Sorethumb did comedy. Von and Moonstar also did a dance off during the middle. At one point it was open to anyone who wanted to come up and show their stuff. As far as I know they will be holding the talent show again and have a lot of plans for it next year.

Alarm Con

Formally known as FAU. If you haven’t heard already, there was not one, but TWO fire alarms pulled Friday night. Once at 3:30am and again at 4:30am. Ya know, WHEN MOST PEOPLE ARE SLEEPING. And of course it was the night we went to bed around 1am ish, after Moonstar doing 2 panels, the rest doing 1, and the boys drinking – SLEEP WAS NEEDED. Then….. BREEEEE BREEEEE BREEEEEE. I haven’t jumped out of bed that fast in YEARS. PANIC, WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING!? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE SHITTING ME! We peek out the hallway….. looked fine. Intercom comes on “We are looking into the situation, please stay in your rooms”. Well…. I GUESS IT’S NOT A FIRE THEN. Besides trying to relax, being angry, and worrying, I sat there going “please…. DON’T let it be a furry who did it. I REALLY like this hotel!” Second time alarm goes off, “FUCKING HELL”. Apparently I was cursing and saying something along the lines of “whoever is pulling the alarm I am going to shit in their cereal”. I don’t remember this, I was only told this.

Turns out that it was the wedding party that was also there who pulled the alarm. They got really drunk, were very loud, and hotel staff told them to quiet down. Well some of them didn’t like that so they thought it would be a good idea to pull the alarm twice! I heard they were arrested….. not sure…. but I know they were kicked out of the hotel. So, furries, I am proud it wasn’t you guys and that everyone handled it well. Ended up becoming the joke of the con afterwards. Other people who were at the con who were non-furs however were very nice and were interested in what was happening. They were cool!

Drawing and artist alley

There was much doodling. Here is a master post of all my doodles here and some things that were drawn for me here . I got some wicked cool things from the dealers den and artist alley this year. Sooooo many good things….. I got to spoil myself tee hee ^ ^. I may do a post later of some things I got. I don’t know. I also got to meet RevaDieHard- which was pretty awesome. She’s so nice too, her and Dew ^ ^. But really, all the artists in there were amazing <3

Rave

I danced! And I sucked at it! XD When we went it was when there was music that I didn’t connect to…. Not that I can dance already but you know what I mean. But mainly…… dancing in fursuit shoes is HAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD. You slide a lot and step on your feet a lot. Again, Moonstar, HOW THE FUCK YOU DO THIS!? :P Also, whoever the fursuiter is who has the glowy whiskers and gave out the glow sticks- you are awesome :3

Closing ceremonies

For most who go to closing ceremonies at FAU you already know it’s pretty amazing. Especially when we have the NJSPCA go there every year to raise money to help with their animal rescue unit. Plus, we have a Michelle…. or who is now known as Legal Eagle. Who, may I add, now has a badge as per me! She needed one, especially with such a cool name as Legal Eagle! Of course now her Srgt and fellow NJSPCA member who come every year needs one too ^ ^. This woman is so amazing, so appreciative, and so strong. We found out that she has been fighting cancer (mainly around her eye)- they told her she would be blind. Not only is she not blind, but the cancer is almost out! Just one last spot and she will be cancer free. Legal Eagle absolutely kicks butt! She and all of the NJSPCA care so much for the animals they save, for animals in general, and they really love the furry community. They were so proud of us, for our charity and our kindness. We helped raise $10,516 for the NJSPCA between the auction, their table at the dealers den/artist alley, and with people just doing last minute donations. Again, we made poor Michelle cry, AND got her Srgt well up too.

A surprise at closing ceremonies?!

It took Comet weeks of planning and working with con staff the whole con- but Comet surprised Moonstar by proposing to her at closing ceremonies. Took a whole lotta lying and distracting her too XD but Comet worked with Dragoneer, Sciggles, and Silver (and other staff members), who were more than happy to help, prep for it. They got him music, they took some of the pictures they got from my camera of them to put on the projector, and they set up the distraction. Poor Moonstar, they lied and said they drew her name at random so she would come up with them and they’d have her in the ceremony. Comet sneaks up, gives a little speech, and pops the question on stage. SORRY FOR MAKING YOU CRY MOONSTAR…… BUT I HAVE IT ON VIDEO NOW HEEE HEE…… although it may also pick up me crying as I recorded :V.

Now, for something we DIDN’T expect. During the last minute auction to raise money- there was this romance/sexy board game. People were bidding for it- Dragoneer being one of them. Another fur in the back was bidding for it (a few were, it was weird, weird sells!) But her and Dragoneer ended up in a bid fight for it. Sciggles joins in and finally the two of them win it! They turn around, and they gave it to Comet and Moonstar as an engagement gift XD. DID NOT KNOW that was going to happen! It was super cool. Speaking of not knowing- we were jerks and didn’t tell any of our friends what was going to happen. Not to be biased, but this was definitely the best closing ceremonies ever! And you all should go congratulate the two!

Misc.

* Zai and I went to Gideon’s Hyper panel and it was GREAT! :D Also started making hyper jokes rest of the con X3

* I bought a giant wall fan and scroll at the auction for $50 ^ ^

* I tried sooooo hard for that wolf pocket watch at the auction! But didn’t get it XD

* I recorded some of the silliest things but I hope they came out alright ^ ^

* Con sleep schedule that works for me: late night, early morning, 5 hours of sleep is fine.

* Favorite phrase of the con: “SLEEP IS FOR THE WEAAAAAAAAAK”

* Moonstar and I woke the boys up every time we came in late. Sorry! Although Arthur was up late with us Thursday night.

* I drew a sign for the talent show with Tony Stark in the corner and the word “Agreed” in the middle. 3am drawings are FUN.

* We plan awesomely for food. Cup noodle is best idea!

* There was a fridge in the room, IF IKNEW THAT I WOULD HAVE BROUGHT CHEESE FOR SAMMIES!

* Our group was the group in the zoo Sunday singing Beetles and other classic songs.

* STREETPASSES, STREETPASSES GALLOR!

* Kekipi drew me a gift badge AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH! Thank you!

* I learned you can order pizza to be delivered at the hotel. I feel I have learned an incredible new power.

* The boys drank, the girls didn’t XD

* The car was not driven into the lake this year! (long story)

* We didn’t use squeakers that much this year.

* Moonstar and I drove up there this year yay! Walkie talkies were best idea for driving together. Thanks Arthur!
