About Commissions - July 2021 by Blokfort

I'm not sure how to word this elegantly (when do I ever?), so bear with me.

I don't know what to do about commissions.

I'm afraid of letting down the people who have said they would be interested in another commission in the future by not getting back to them / not accepting their commission. But, I'm also afraid of accepting too many, thus delaying a lot of the commissions I'd get to further down the list, as I can only work on one commission at a time after all. I don't want to make people wait for very long when it comes to commissions. Reading commission-horror stories, seeing how some other artist handle their commission lists and personal timing with projects and IRL stuff, etc. all causes me to worry about how long I'm taking. I'm not a very consistent planner, I seem to change what I'm doing pretty often based on what I feel like I need to work on or what I feel like doing at the time. I bring this up because I have this idea of doing limited slots for commissions for the next few months, but I don't know when I'll get them all completed, and I don't know when the next opening would be.

I bring all of that up because I'd like to be able to focus on the next big project I have planned. This one will actually have a completion too, heh. Doing "limited" commissions I feel will be necessary here in order to get the project done in a fairly timely manner. I'll post again with more details about the commission process.

So, that's the plan, I'm sorry for the inconvinience.
