FHL Updates August 5: Veteran's Draft and Growth Point Update/Contest by FHL

Apologies for all being later with the news, but here is the updates for the FHL as of August 5th.

FHL Season 3 Draft Info!

This season's draft will be veterans only! A separate Rookie Draft will be held for teams to select from the brand new crop of players. This year the draft pool contains 68 veterans (31 offense, 28 defense, 9 goalies).

The draft is currently scheduled from Friday, August 9th to Monday, August 12th. Each GM will be notified with all the details they will need in order to make sure their selections are assured, even if you are not available during the actual draft.

The order of selections for each round, as well as the complete list of draft candidates, can be found at the Season 3 Draft spreadsheet, located in the link below.

Growth Point Update and Player Drive

Greetings everyone, two-subject journal here.

First, our system of growth points is changing heading into season 3. Effective immediately, rather than earning growth points for certain achievements, a player will earn "experience points", which can be exchanged for growth points or other perks in the offseason. Additionally, players can earn experience points by making contributions to the FHL. If you are a player who is interested in learning how to operate the game simulator in order to earn points, please leave a comment or let a contributor know. Finally, veteran players have the new option to "gift" experience points, or bestow up to 1000 experience points to another player.

For a full list of new experience points options, click here.

Secondly, its player drive time!

This is the part of the offseason where we all get as many new players in as quickly as possible. This means you, and you will be rewarded for your work! As of now, the FHL needs 25 more skaters. This means position players, we already have too many goalies. Here's how and why you should bring a friend or two in:

-Each new player you bring in will get you 350 experience points.

-The player who recruits the most new players gets an additional 2000 experience points

-The runner up in recruiting the most players will get an additional 1000 experience points (if there is a tie, the points will be divided)

-If you're not sure how to explain the FHL to someone, you can always link them to this journal after you've introduced them to the idea.

  • Once someone is ready to submit a player, you have the link here.
  • The goal is to complete the drive by the draft starting August 9th, but the drive will end when we reach the 160 skater mark.

Good luck everyone!
