Food Job Goals by Mirumoto_Kenjiro

Besides some of my dream ideas in gardening, I’ve had some wild plans in the food industry business, using some experience I had in training & working in culinary arts

Food Truck – Plans have been pretty broad as to what kind of food I want to sell or even then type of vehicle I want as my food truck. I’ve seen old city buses that I could convert into a large food truck, but space is a pretty major issue. I even can’t yet decide on what to serve, though I’d like to be different from other local food vendors. Like Russian food, Mediterranean food, personal-sized pizzas and Italian hand-held food, maybe even willing to sell Good Humor ice cream products from a customized vehicle like a 3-wheel motorcycle.

Dinner Theater – One of my major goals is the creation of a cinema dinner theater with the capability of having occasional live performances. The aesthetic look would be 1920s, and discounts would be provided to customers dressed in the early 20th century, the shows would be classic films, and serves a variety of comfort foods, snacks, and drinks. Once a week, local acting groups could do live shows similar to old variety shows.

Soda Shop – Another idea that could be attached to the dinner theater is an old fashioned soda shop that serves ice cream & soda drinks. As it would be connected to the theater, movie patrons can order from the same menu. But the soda shop can be open during hours which the dinner theater isn’t. And yes, the workers would be known as soda jerks.

Automat – Another oldie but goodie is an automat, a restaurant set-up like one big vending machine. Customers can purchase reloadable credit-type cards to buy the food, which is prepared and placed in individual compartments, by swiping the cards near these compartments to open the door for each food. Back then, coins were used, but the higher price of food has made the need for cards, as inspired by current arcades like Dave & Busters and Gameworks. The food provided would often be comfort food from burgers & sandwiches to soups & chili, either as combos or a la carte.

Russian Fast Food – This was an inspiration from a video I watched about the history of fast food in Russia, which developed its own fast food restaurant chains, a few of which had opened in very few places in the United States. My goal here is to open one of those chains back in the States, one that serves Russian fast food like Teremok.

Solar Oven Kitchen – Since working at the farmer’s markets, I had come up with some very radical ideas that could either work really well or die very quickly. My first thought was selling food cooked solely by solar ovens, which reflect sunlight to a space in the oven to heat foods quickly, and our Arizona sun has a very bright reputation. I have looked around at already made designs, but there could be a chance I may have to build some specialty cookers for foods like shish kebabs or other skewered dishes.

WW2 Field Kitchen – Another crazy idea for a food vendor is to serve food from a WW2-era battalion-sized field kitchen, using tools and equipment from the time period. This could also be used for reenactment events.

Chuck Wagon – My last food vendor idea is using a chuck wagon to make meals of the Old Wild West, whether for customers to sample old-style dishes or compete in chili cook-offs

Brewing/Distilling – As I may have said in an earlier journal, to be added in new acreage I hoped to make money for, to grow orchards & vineyards, some of which I may use to make wines, liquors, and other booze using my crops, including my herbs. The idea of a spearmint-infused blackberry wine or ginger mint white wine sounds quite possible and tasty

Holiday Bakery – Last current idea is to bring back a bakery to our town, as our only bakery had closed down. But I want to have a specialty bakery to celebrate all national and religious holidays, plus birthdays and weddings.
