Lady & The Tramp (2019) - movie review by JohnStripedfur

I think this is the first time I ever reviewed a brand new movie that I didn't see in a theater or came out in a theater. I'm not a big fan of watching brand new movies strictly for streaming because in my opinion, it's better to watch a movie on the big screen than on the small screen. Or even a phone screen. But, this is the world we're living in right now and in about ten years from now. More movies will be shown in streaming websites and apps than in movie theaters. So, might as well get in with the times.

Disney+ so far has been a pretty good experience. It has everything a Disney fan like me want. Well, almost everything. It doesn't have every single TV show Disney has made or produced, but it has plenty of movies and shorts I want to watch when I get the chance. When I heard about a remake of Lady & The Tramp, I was interested in the least. Mostly because I want to see what differences they'll make on this one. But, then I heard they only release it on Disney+ and I was a bit disappointed because I rather see it in the theater than on a tablet. Though, that's the way it is. They made a few original movies and shows for the app itself and so far, I only saw The Madalorian and Noelle. The Mandalorian was a great show and can't wait for season 2. Noelle, on the other hand, felt like one of those bad Disney Channel original movies.

And Lady & The Tramp, is not as bad as that. But, I can see why they released it on Disney+ rather than in movie theaters. Because if this came out in the theaters, the critics will rip this apart and it'll bomb at the box office much like the Dumbo remake did. Except, this one isn't as bad as the Dumbo remake. At least the Dumbo remake took risks and try to be a bit different, but failed. The Lady & The Tramp remake wasn't bad. But, it isn't good either. It's a cute watch. But, the animated version is much better with better writing, better pacing, and a better theme. The remake doesn't have much good pacing and the writing good use some work. Though, I do like a couple of the changes they put in this movie and I like that they use real dogs, sometimes, in the movie.

Overall, it's a harmless film to watch when you're bored or curious about it. But, I rather watch the original animated version.
