Holy crap, I just uploaded a LOT of crap. I basically (and quite inadvertently) flooded Weasyl's literary section. CRAAAAP. I did that on SoFurry once, back before they offered FOLDERS for stories... and it pissed off a LOT of people. I had a few dozen people rate EVERYTHING of mine as ONE STAR, haha. I lover haters, man. They're so passionate about their hate. Then they go and tell everyone about you, which generates interest.
As Donald Trump once said, and I paraphrase: "Bad publicity is still publicity."
Anyway. I just spend the last several hours uploading chapter after chapter, trying to tweak the uploader that keeps messing with my spacing, and trying new styles to make it easier to read. Sometimes it works, sometimes... not so much.
I uploaded pictures, I CnP'ed all the links to each chapter and posted a chapter legend in each chapter's detail-section. That way readers don't have to hunt around for that stuff.
No offense to Fur Affinity but... their literary tools STINK for writers. SoFurry has the paws-down-best, making an auto-populated chapter legend on the side, and such... but Weasyl isn't too shabby either. And it's nice that I can make my stories pop with style and formatting... FA, again no offense, gives you tiny block lettering on a drab background, with no formatting.
Ugh. I can't even read it. I uploaded four chapters then I was like, "To hell with FA." D:
Three quarter million users... you'd think they'd cater to writers a LIIIIITTTLE more than SF's quarter million users... but WHATEVEZ.
Anyhow, I'm taking a break tonight. haha. I just made this profile a few hours ago. I don't have any fans, any readers, any page views, or whatever else... So it's not like people are going to be, like, "OMFG CLIFFHANGER AHHHH!" And there's a lot of material to get through if I even DO get a reader... (I'm still unsure on SoFurry, lol. Like, my one book has 800 views. Every chapter afterwards has over 150, and upwards of several hundred on a few chapters... but not ONE SINGLE COMMENT on 3 WHOLE BOOKS! xD)
Yeah... so if I even Do get a reader... then they have a lot to get through before they get up to Act1/Book3, so I won't feel TOO guilty about taking a break from uploading all the stories, haha.
God... Writing original work is TOUGH. I used to have legions of fans when I wrote FanFiction for StarFox, Sly Cooper and, to a lesser extent, Castlevania. But no one seems to wanna read original material... Prove me wrong, Weasyl! PLEEEAAAASSEEE.

LOL I know right? I wrote this story called "Reflections of Regret" where Krystal from StarFox regretted her decision to hook up with Panther. For amusement, I made it sexual, but only in 4 out of 18 chapters... then I took a break from it after she got back with Fox... and people are like, "OMFGGGG PLEEEASE FINISH IT! AHHHH!"
Needless to say, people like what they like. They like what they're exposed to... and that's why advertisement helps. If they hear a song on the radio enough times, no matter how bad it is, they'll start humming it before long... then you got people going to that band's concert, no matter how much they suck. Hmm, maybe the CIA was onto something with the whole "brainwashing" thing, lmao. Remember that movie, Josie and the Pussycats? xD
And today... FURRY... is the new ANIME. And Red... is the new Blue!

Haha, usually reading's too big a bother for people nowadays, they're just alliterate, long story short. I've been the same way, but I'm going to try and read more now that I myself am trying to write a story, and broaden my horizons, like they say. x)
I completely agree with fan-made stuff too; its great and all that people write about their favorite series, and its cool to see what other people come up with, but its sad that original works don't get nearly as much attention (Unless its porn... But that's for another discussion)
I've had that happen in my visual arts, and its kind of frustrating that I do a great job on one of my OC's or something, and maybe one or two people will look, but when its just a Pokemon doodle, then people flock to it. xD
