Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) - movie review by JohnStripedfur

I'm a Godzilla fan. Not as hardcore, but I had been a fan since I was a kid. I remember watching a couple of the old Godzilla movies they use to show on certain channels back in the day. I remember when me and my brother went to see the 1998 Godzilla starring Mathew Broderick on Memorial Day weekend all hyped up for the movie. It was a bit disappointing back then. It wasn't a good Godzilla movie, but it was a decent giant monster movie. Since then, I've been trying to watch much of the Godzilla movies that is available for rent, on TV, or another way. I've seen most of the Showa ones, Heisei ones, and a couple of the Millennium ones. I have to say that the Heisei ones is the better franchise by far. But, I'm also a big fan of the Monsterverse that Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures had been doing in the last five years. Godzilla (2014) was pretty good, Kong: Skill Island was enjoyable, and this movie.....

...was awesome! It was everything a Godzilla fan wanted. Great monster battle scenes. All of the monsters looked amazing in this movie. I really enjoyed this movie. Dare I say, this is the best Godzilla movie of the genre. Not including the very first one, Gojira (Godzilla). That one's the #1 on any list. But, as far as like actual good looking giant monster fights. This one's the best one. We finally have the technology that can make giant monster fights look great. I've seen the past ones and I have to be honest. They don't hold up too well. I know it was the technology back then, but they're pretty corny. I do like the Heisei ones and some of the Millennium ones are good, too. But, this one is by far the best.

Although the story with the human characters are a bit iffy, but let's face it. The human characters historically had never been good in all of the Godzilla movies, except of the very first one. And it's not the humans you want to see anyways. Like, if you're a fan of the live action Transformers movies just for the giant robot action scenes, you would be a fan of this one. And that's a good thing.

Overall, if you're a huge Godzilla fan or a Kaiju fan in general. You would very much enjoy the hell out of this movie.
