Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet - movie review by JohnStripedfur

I remember when the first one came out back in 2012. I was a bit skeptical about it, but kept my mind open. I remember going to a midnight showing of the film (back when they actually had midnight showings) and there was a large group of adults watching it. All of them are staffers of a local anime convention and they all decided to have a viewing party of the upcoming Disney flick. I remember they all really enjoyed this movie as did I. I really like the jokes, the characters, the setting, and many of the video game references. So, when they announced a sequel, I was excited. Hoping it'll be just as good as the first one.

And I wasn't disappointed. This movie was a lot of fun. As good as the original. Not better, but just as good. I like the internet references they have in the movie and the setting is really good. Even though it's pretty much a PG version of the internet. It shows the good and the bad, which I like. And the message at the end is very powerful. I hadn't seen that in many movies lately. This is what the Emoji movie should've looked like. Even though I never saw it (thank goodness), I'm glad I didn't. I especially love the Oh My Disney sequence. It's all the Disney references a Disney fan would love. The Princess scene was just awesome. I laughed pretty hard during it and smiled throughout. Even at the part where they save Ralph. A Disney Princess Avengers movie must happen.

Although, much like the original, this one does have some of the detractors. I remember when the first one came out, the complaints were mostly about they want to see more game jumping to other games and see more references. The complaints for this one is that it totally ignores the rules of the first one. No game jumping. And I can see why they say that.

Overall, this is a really fun movie. It has a few issues, but it makes up for a good story, great characters, and a strong message. I'm also glad that there's no villain reveal this time. After a half a dozen movies that have that, I'm glad the movie didn't go that route. If you're a Disney fan or a fan of the first movie. You will love this movie just as much as the original.
