I'm here! by squeakybunny

I am finally in my new home. Well, it's new to me anyway. It is double the size of my old one and has three bedrooms, a decent sized living room, dining area, kitchen, laundry room, and garage. So far I've had to do some plumbing and replace the stove and water heater. The dishwasher washer and dryer seem to be in good order. Other than that everything seems to be in great shape. One very nice thing is that there is a ramp that goes from the kitchen down to the garage floor so I can roll up with my electric scooter if I need to. I've set up one of the bedrooms as my 'office' with the computer next to the window so I can see the street and mailboxes. I'm still struggling to figure out where to put the living room furniture as well as the kitchen but that is always a problem in a new place.

It is in an adult park and has mostly seniors my age or older. There is a strip mall within walking distance as well as a Burger King, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, and Domino's nearby. Downtown is about a mile away and there is a YMCA that has a sauna, steam room, hot tub, pool, and exercise room there. The bigger cities are about 15 to 20 miles from here and have all the major stores so it isn't hard to find everything you need.

The only sad thing is that Smudge ran away before I left Florida. He would have liked this place with all the rooms to explore. My landlady in Florida is keeping her eyes open in case he comes back but he is skittish and might not return. I will consider getting a companion once everything is moved in and settled.

Also I'll be back online more once I have the place in order. There is too much that needs to be done and I can't put it off till later. Mom is closing her house up so all us kids will be there so she can tell us what she wants us to have. That is going to be a project and a half sorting and moving things. My house is getting furnished with a lot of her things it makes me a bit sad but life is like that.

I'm here!
