So if you have read my previous journal entries before, I'm gonna say it now. I've made it. I have officially moved to Sydney, Australia.

But for those who have only just started reading, let me explain.

I am American, and prior to moving I had lived in the Pacific Northwest of the US. In fact it had been my home for the past 11 years of my life. It's a big change for me. In fact I was nervous during the long flights across the Pacific ocean, and pretty stressed out on the night I had moved into the new house. But now that it's daytime I have actually calmed down about it. I just need time to get used to this.

But now that I am currently living in New South Wales, I have to say there are already some blatantly obvious differences. For one thing, the nature here is different. Even the birds here sound rather alien to me. Not to mention the trees look very tropical compared to what I'm used to. House design is also different. In fact our new house is a bit smaller than our old one and the light switches, sinks, and bathrooms are designed differently. But we do have a swimming pool now, so that's nice.

Another thing to get used to is the time difference. As I'm typing this, it is summer in the US, but winter here in Australia. Not to mention it is evening/night in America but also morning here. So if you notice that I'm posting things at odd times, you may understand why.

So how do I feel about this? Well at the moment I have rather mixed feelings about the move. I know I'm eventually going to get used to living here, but I also know that I'm going to miss my time back at my old home. I had essentially grown up there, and now I just left behind years of childhood for another country. Not to mention I may have to get used to a different lifestyle here as well. I'm not normally used to change, so for me this is a little challenging.
