Disney's Christopher Robin - movie review by JohnStripedfur

I'm a fan of Winnie the Pooh. I've read the book that has all of the original adventures, I've watched the cartoon series as a kid, and I've watched the animated movie many times. It's a cartoon where you get the go back to have that feeling as a child. To the days of innocence and games.

That being said, when I saw the teaser for this movie. I though, "Disney is making Hook. Only with Winnie the Pooh this time." Since Hook was already made, Disney tries to see what other child character in their library that they can do the same way. Oh, Christopher Robin. And that's what this is.

This movie is a pretty good movie. Not great, but good enough to watch. The tone is a bit contrast to the story, but I love seeing the progression of adult Christopher Robin retaking his childhood and learning that you can't always do adult things all the time. Sometimes, you just have to do nothing to become something.

All the characters are the same and it's great to hear Jim Cummings doing the voices of Tigger and Pooh again. Ewan McGreggor was fantastic as grown up Christopher Robin. As you watch the movie, it takes you back to why you love the Winnie the Pooh stories. There was a scene where I nearly wept because it was a really touching scene. The comedy is a bit all over the place a few times, but the pacing held on. I don't think this movie is better than Hook. I think Hook did it better, but Christopher Robin is still a good movie to watch.

Overall, if you're a fan of the Winnie the Pooh stories, movies, and the cartoon show, you'll like this movie.
