Missing another year of fandom. by FurryJackman

"We don't want your negativity, go away."

This is the default response someone gives when they want to forget their own life's worries by focusing on having a good time at a convention, but some person who may legitimately be struggling is seeking help in their face. That's general hive mentality on what normal people do to instead of reach out, closing themselves in and care about their own skin over others who may be suffering.

With stupid bureaucracy letting down so many others, you wonder why "Oh, he was troubled" is so common without knowledge to just not look into the deeper issues of others.

Professionals that will help want money for their services. The ones that have to take whatever government gives them for free is subject to how well that is funded. If it's not funded well, too bad.

And sometimes being the person to reject society and carving your own path ALSO gets you into hot water cause once you do have to eventually re-integrate with society, it's not your own rules at play, causing even more discourse.

To anyone who thinks it's easy to change someone overnight by just brute forcing the same ideas over and over again, it doesn't work that way.

My feelings on losing out on another year of being with fandom friends because of my deplorable mental state always come back to me when I go back on social media after gaining back a little confidence doing stuff I think to better my mental state. This is unavoidable.

Well, all I can say is there is a hell of a lot more to this fandom than conventions and other "big event/social gathering" type deals. You can still be a part of the fandom n so many other ways, and experience it. It may be good for you to try to focus more on what you can do rather than dwelling on what's currently out of reach. It's not easy, I know. But difficult does not mean impossible.
