Game Awards 2017 recap! With a slice of Nintendo fun. by BlazRtheDragon

Guaps: Good afternoon, furries and scalies. My name is Guaps the Lugia...

RockN: And I am RockN the Ho-oh. Welcome to the post-Game Awards edition of the Daily Dragon Tab. Sorry if we didn't recapped from yesterday. We, too, have been bombarded by the likes of travelling all the way over to Tucson.

Guaps: So with that being put into the past, let's get right into the good stuff in this post-Game Awards special! Coming in at #1, the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has won three consecutive awards for Best Game Direction, Best Action / Adventure Game and, last but not least, the Game of the Year nomination. This was the first Nintendo Switch game to be wholly executive produced by none other than Tatsumi Kimishima without any given support from Satoru Iwata, 13 years after his leadership and direction gained mixed to negative reception. But that wasn't exactly the only game worth three awards, as Cuphead, another game not made by Nintendo, but Studio MDHR, has also won a set of their own, which includes Best Art Direction, Best Independent Game and Best Debut Indie Game. We congratulate the two of reaching higher standards.

RockN: Next up at #2 is the new Death Stranding trailer, presented by both the legendary Hideo Kojima and his friend, Guillermo del Toro, which was already announced during the Game Awards 2017. The game is currently in development by the team at Kojima Productions and is set to be published only by Sony Interactive Entertainment, made possible for the PlayStation 4. This will be the first Kojima Productions' developed title, two years following a strong and nefarious dispute between the production company and Konami Holdings Co. Ltd.; the latter where del Toro made a successful and praised move via Twitter that he brought them down to the ground. Excellent work, Mr. Guillermo! Death Stranding is coming to the PlayStation 4 console very soon, so stay up to date on their Twitter pages for more information.

Guaps: At #3, Bayonetta is getting some big top love, as both games, Bayonetta 1 + 2, are about to be officially released on the Nintendo Switch. The release of the game will come in two titles for the price of one Nintendo Switch game card, so be aware that it may or may not come with two separate games. And speaking of being separate, it's time to kiss the Wii U goodbye, as PlatinumGames have also announced that Bayonetta 3 is now currently in development for the Nintendo Switch! Expect a full reveal of the game to be made at E3 2018 later in the future.

RockN: And finally, at #4, the Nintendo Switch's biggest launch title, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, to which we're coming back to it once more, has a brand new DLC pack for you to immediately take home. Known as the Champions' Ballad, it includes a new story with more cutscenes, as it retells the daily life of Zelda and Link to where they unite a series of races that provide the following: Daruk, Revali, Urbosa and Mipha. Aside from the cutscenes and a new story, it will come with an Ancient Horse, a final trial with a brand new boss, 16 Shrines with four Spirit Orbs, the One-Hit Obliterator, new clothes from the Zelda universe, and even a Master Cycle Zero. It will help Link ride through the great plains without losing a bunch of stamina! The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's DLC Pack B of the Champions' Ballad is *out now on the Nintendo Switch's eShop service. Get your internet connections on and head on over there!

*Note: You must have a Nintendo Network ID, a My Nintendo account, a Nintendo Switch, an internet connection and a $20 additional pass card, in order to gain access to the DLC pack. Thank you.

Guaps: So what did you guys think of the Game Awards? Were you satisfied with the results? Are you planning to give Death Stranding a shot when it gets released? Do you wanna give Bayonetta a chance for on the go play? Will you plan to download the pack? Let us know in the comment section!

RockN: And that's gonna wrap up today's episode of the Daily Dragon Tab. Till next time, I'm RockN the Ho-oh...

Guaps: And Guaps the Lugia, signing out.
