Coco - movie review by JohnStripedfur

Before I get to the movie, I'll talk about the Frozen short first. I don't think it's that bad. It's cute and there were some funny parts in there, but I had a feeling it was meant to be shown on TV as a Christmas special to be shown on ABC during the holidays. And it's obvious Disney put that in there because they didn't have faith that Coco won't do as well as they hoped it would. Considering the last Pixar movie that was released in November was The Last Dinosaur and that didn't do so well in the box office. And Cars 3 didn't make as much as it should either. So, they put the Frozen short hoping it'll bring in more numbers. It worked for the live action Cinderella when they put Frozen Fever in it. But, in truth, Coco is great enough without it. They should've shown Olaf's Frozen Adventure on TV like it was originally planned.

Anyways, Coco itself was a great movie. Extremely touching. Made me teared up a couple times. At first, I had trouble getting into the story, but as it continued I found myself getting into it more and more. When I thought the story was going to one way, turns out it didn't. I like it when a twist surprises me. And as far as how it depicts the culture and the holiday of the Day of the Dead. It's done ten times better than the Book of Life. And that was a good movie that deserves more attention. The music itself was fantastic and touching as well. It's pretty much about music and family. And you don't have to understand the holiday in order to get the themes.

Overall, another fantastic Pixar movie. Perfect movie to be watched by anybody.
