The Nature of Power by ACDragon

The power of big corporations, religions, and even gods comes from the people that support them. As such, power is servitude. If you're unwilling to serve the people who gave you your power, they'll rightly take it away from you and give it to someone more deserving. Doesn't matter how great you are, there's always something waiting in the wings to take you down.

And if you use your power to bully people into silence like Twitter and Youtube have done as of late, you will end up destitute. This isn't me claiming to be a goddess, this is me recounting all of human history in a nutshell. Your power comes from your constituents. If you abuse your constituents, they will destroy you. Don't let your power go to your head, because it wasn't you who gave you that power in the first place, and those who gave you that power most certainly can and will take that power away from you.

This is why tyrants and despots do their damndest to convince their constituents that they're all-powerful and nothing can challenge them. This is also why nations have invoked the mythological "Divine Right of Kings" and ancient civilizations wrote stories about their pantheons of gods who did amazing things and then imparted their privilege onto the ruling class. They did those things so they could convince the true power behind their rule that it wasn't powerful at all. Every ruler knows that if they abuse The People, The People will rise up and bring them down. Thus they create myths saying The People have no power, when in fact it is The People who give power to the powerful in the first place. This is why narcissists obsessed with dominance work to destroy the lives of even the most innocent person who challenges their dominance: they know that their power comes from everyone else.

And this is also why when it comes to would-be tyrants like ANTIFA, BLM, and BAMN, they fear The People far more than they fear the government, and that's why when they rain down terror upon the world around them, they always target The People. They know that the general population is where the real power is, and they want the general population to support them, even if it is only by their fear and terror of individual retaliation if they should ever say "no" to them.

Violence does not give power. Guns do not give power. Religion and God do not give power. There is no divine right of kings. The Gods did not give the kings of old the power and the right to rule the ancient world. Power comes from The People, and only The People.
