Having no friends is better than having friends by Fr0stbit3

Something I've learned from this community in the past several years is that you should not have people to look up to. Because in the end, those people will be the ones to put you down in the ground.

Either they are afraid of you or jealous of you, or perhaps they're just downright assholes. Point is, trust no one. Having little to no friends has proven to be effective for me because there's a less chance of being hurt. I was stupid enough to think people actually liked me before when in fact I was just being used. I appreciate the little friends I do have.

Most recently one of my good friends started ignored me completely on all messaging apps and even on FA. It's nice to know he's active and ignores me when I thought he was my friend.

Short version: furries are assholes and popular furs are bigger assholes.

Unfortunately. I am not into the fandom like I used to be. I wanted to be a part of it to fit in because I figured that ths fandom was accepting of everyone, when there's more cliques in here than a high school. People WILL treat you like shit for no reason other than to do it for fun. I learned the hard way.

I wish people would be nicer to you and I'm sorry to hear you have such negative experiences, I hope you can feel better with time, you're an amazing artist full of talent and likely an awesome person as well, if nothing else, others should at least give you explanations as to why they're absent or avoiding etc. I don't know.. I'm shy as all hell so never really bothered to make any friends in the fandom, I'd be too distant, too reclusive or too busy to maintain any, so I have no real experience to draw from. From what I've heard or observed though, yeah, cliques seem to be a common problem, just human instinct or pack mentality I guess. Still, I'm sorry that you've been hurt, I hope time and perhaps a smaller circle of more loyal "actual" friends may heal the wounds. Try to feel better and don't let others bring you down.

This is how it should be. I keep my distance from the fandom too! Superficially present as a furry but only keeping a tight knit group that I know personally. Most furries are poor, emotional train wrecks or self important. But, let's be real here, that's not unique to furries, that's just part of the human condition. Quality over quantity is the name of the game. Don't try to be popular or have lots of friends (what a waste of time). Just get a few that are meaningful and you know PERSONALLY (not online) even if they are not furries. Real friends wont judge you.

Yeah, I see what you mean, and I agree. Yet I think furries aren't assholes, its just the community.
