Draft Delay and Draft Information by FHL

Hello to all GMs, Commissioners, Players and Fans,

Due to realization of the time requirement for preparing for the draft for Commissioners and GMs was too small for the originally planned schedule, the Commissioners have decided to delay the draft 1 week to Sunday, April 9th. This delay however does not change the retention deadline as the lock is needed to be able to prepare information for the draft, and due to this, all retention has been locked at this time.

With that said, here is the Draft Order for the Season 6 FHL Draft:

To clarify the four traded picks
HTC sent their Sea 6 1st and 4th, and Sea 7 1st and 2nd to SLC in Trade for Killer Bees Forward Brute Belonzyk
SAS surrendered their Sea 6 1st rd pick to NWF to acquire the rights to Backdraft Wolf off Waivers
NWF traded their Sea 6 2nd rd pic to SAS in Trade for Prairie Dogs Forward Kruz.

Draft pick format will follow the same structure as years before:

Each team will have from when their pick comes up until the listed deadline for the pick to select a player to draft. Teams can submit a "Draft list" if need be to the league as well, to which the Commission will use it for picking players should a pick not be submitted by the deadline.

Should a team not have a legal choice on the Draft list, and have not submitted a player by the deadline, then the pick for the team will be marked as "Late" and will be passed until a pick is submitted.

This process will continue until the final round is completed, at which any remaining players will be placed into draft free agency. During draft free agency, teams will have 24 hours to submit preference lists to the FHL or commissioners if they wish to acquire a remaining player. At the end of the 24 hours, those lists will determine who acquires who, with priority on the first day given to teams who ranked lower last season. If there are any players remaining after that 24 hour period, another 24 period will be run, with teams who picked the first day moved to the bottom of priority.

Once all players are chosen, a Waiver list will be generated based on the results of the last day, and teams will be ready for the year.

As many of you may note as a departure form last season, rounds are divided up into two 8 team days this year. This is due to changes in the Commissions work schedule making administration of early afternoon draft picks unviable. Thus, drafts will be focused on evening times, though should a Team's pick come up early, they are welcome to select anytime.

A quick note to all GMs and AGMs. Due to we are only a few players over the 160 mark, we will once again be implementing the 10-2 rule. This means that no team can aquire more than 2 goalies, and no team can have more than 10 skaters until all teams have 10 skaters. Due to current goalie numbers, no more than 9 teams can acquire 2 Goalies as well.

With that, we hope you are enjoying the offseason and hope to possibly see you at the draft!
