Popularity of Vinyl Records by ACDragon

I'm pleasantly surprised to see that they're becoming more popular these days. I was raised when there was no such thing as mp3 players or CD's and so on, and I remember when CD's became the big new thing and I thought for sure that records would just completely die out. I'm glad to see I was wrong about that.

I'm actually hoping to purchase a record player this month. I already have the model picked out, an Audio-Tehnica that has a built-in pre-amp, is fully automatic, and is just under a hundred bucks. All I have to do now is pretty much secure some records to play on it. With the pre-amp and the included cables I should be able to hook it right up to my powered PC speakers and be done with it.

I probably won't be getting all that big a collection. As much as I like vinyl records, they are big and they are heavy, and if I ever have to move, I'll end up having to lug them around along with my furniture and and computer and so on. Then again, I might go hog-wild with it, I dunno. Maybe the saying "You Only Live Once" ought to apply to my life a bit more often and I should just let loose and enjoy it.
