The Top 10 Best Animated Films! by BlazRtheDragon

Es el dia numero tres! Or, It's day number three, as the crossover event of Mii News X Daily Dragon Tab continues on until the Nintendo Switch Presentation! We're almost down to a week, so if you've been sticking with me across Twitter, be on the lookout for an awesome poll taking place tomorrow.

Do you love cartoons? Do you love movies? Then I've got a neat looking surprise for the rest of you film fans. Today, we'll be counting down one of the best animated films that would go on to be the best gems in filming history. It's time to take out your snack and drink, sit back, relax and enjoy the "show"!

  1. The Iron Giant - The Iron Giant is a 1999 American animated, science-fiction, comedy-drama, action film that, set during the 50s, tells the story of a young boy named Hogarth Hughes who seeks out to find an unidentified being that came to outer space, which happens to be a gigantic robot, destined for friendship, bonding and protection. With the secret help of a beatnik named Dean (played by Harry Connick Jr.), they all must stop the US military and their assisted paranoided federal agent named Kent (played by Christopher McDonald) from finding and destroying their innocent metallic friend. Directed by Brad Bird, in his own debut, prior to the Incredibles (and its future sequelsequel) and Ratatouille, this was one of the only animated films to be made by Warner Bros., which I would guarantee of watching this to everyone who LOVES some good old fashioned drama, action, romance and even fictional encounters.

  2. Shrek - Oh, man. You have NO idea how crazy it is to add this movie into the countdown. Well, I don't wanna explain about its internet memes and its YouTube based fads, so here it is! Shrek is a 2001 computer animated fantasy comedy film about an ogre named Shrek (played by Wayne's World fame, Mike Myers) who joins forces with a talking donkey named Donkey (voiced by Eddie Murphy) as they embark on a quest to save not only Princess Fiona (voiced by Cameron Diaz), but to save his swamp, only to be constantly pestered by the king of all Duloc: Lord Farquaad (voiced by John Lithgow). Even before this film somewhat became more of a frequent fad to most people who either wanna waste their time getting the main character into Smash or just make memes out of him for no reason, there has been one single trivia I know of. Originally, DreamWorks Animation, now a wholly owned subsidiary of NBCUniversal and Universal Pictures, intended to have Chris Farley to be the main voice over for the character, but due to some unexpected drug overdose, the company wanted to find someone quickly before they were outnumbered. And Mike Myers of Wayne's World fame stepped in and took over. Way to make it in, Mike! Hoping that no one would even forget about the good times we had for Farley's hilarious 90s amusement. But still, this movie is a must see to behold. And if you wanna go crazy and do whatever the heck it pleases ya, I suggest a couple of videos: "Shrek, but every time someone says ogre, it gets faster" and "Shrek, but without Shrek!"

  3. Chicken Run - Remember when Aardman was the big time company that is known for making the Wallace and Gromit series? 1972, the year where Peter Lord and Nick Park were the best of buddies and made good old fashioned stop motion animations! Well, that, and the part where America gets to become the pinnacle of being weird back in the 80s. But we're not getting close to that; we're simply talking about Chicken Run. One of 2000's first ever clay animated films, the plot is about Ginger (voiced by Julia Sawalha) who joins forces with a circus escaped Rhode Island Red named Rocky (voiced by Mel Gibson) as they draw up a plan to lead the chickens to safety and build up a giant machine that could somewhat have wings... only to be encountered by a couple of selfish, spoiled and rubbish, yet strict, human leaders, known as Mr. and Mrs. Tweedy (voiced by Tony Haygarth and Miranda Richardson respectively). Their mission? To offer Chicken Pot Pies to the public, which could lead to a horrifying experience to the chickens themselves. The film has been directed by Lord and Park, and received a lot of good reception around the time. Mostly because of its cheery music, awesome plots, and stunning animation. No one around the UK could ever come across the likes of the stop motion giant, known as Aardman Animations!

  4. The Lion King - Exactly two years after I was born around December, the Lion King is known to be one of the best animated films in the world. Remember the quote, "Everything the light touches is our kingdom."? Or, "Hakuna Matata"? Or, "It is time!"? That movie had it all! The film involves a young cub named Simba who once had kept in touch with his future deceased father, Mufasa, as he learns a whole lot of what it takes to be king of Pride Rock. However, things didn't do well when Scar and his hyena minions, Shenzi, Banzai and Ed shun Simba from re-entering his home land. In order to forget his memories, he becomes friends with Timon and Pumbaa, the Spongebob and Patrick of being silly and hilarious, especially eating... well, "grubs", the three would say "Hakuna Matata" and chill out around their new home. Then Nala shows up and tries to confess to the now aged Simba that trouble was afoot across Pride Lands, but it failed. Soon after, the spirit of Mufasa appears and tells him that he must take his father's place in the Circle of Life, before coming back to his senses and whacks back at Rafiki in order to have an epic battle between him and Scar. It's like the usual saying, "THIS TIME, IT'S REALLY PERSONAL!"

  5. My Neighbor Totoro - Debuted in 1988 as an influential source of all camphor trees and famous landscapes, as well as spiritual storytelling, My Neighbor Totoro is one of the most recognized figures within Hayao Miyazaki's cherished career of marking it as the cutest mascot in the history of Japan. The film tells the story of two sisters, Satsuki and Mei, as they encounter a few wood spirits in postwar ritual of that area. Have you ever seen a Totoro plush being encountered in Toy Story 3, which I'll save the first one later on in a bit? Or, you ever seen him make an appearance in Hot Topic stores that featured clothing, plushies and other merchandise? Once you see his amusing look, you'll notice that he'll roar for anything magical to come. In fact, this film is always dedicated to be one of the most adorable films you need to watch! Or better yet, it has lots of rewards, too. ;)

  6. How to Train Your Dragon - And if Totoro wasn't cuter enough, wait till you get a load of of this scaly goofball! How to Train Your Dragon, based on the book of the same name, involves the true story of Hiccup (voiced by Jay Baruchel) as he tries to abandon his dragon killing career into being a bonded rider with a Night Fury named Toothless, a rare breed that no one ever even noticed before. After making progress with the cutest scaly butt, everything goes upside down when rival turned friend Astrid (played by America Fererra) and her allies, Fishlegs (Christopher Mintz Plasse); Snotlout (Jonah Hill) and Ruffnut & Tuffnut (T. J. Miller and Kristina Wiig), decided to make up the harsh remarks on him and allowed Hiccup to draw up a plan to save Toothless... before he saves him from a gigantic beast that has been controlling the dragons. Right next to the likes of Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar, as well as the obvious one named Shrek, How to Train Your Dragon will be among one of the greatest film franchises to ever release the best known character designs for all things dragons. Didn't see that one coming now, did ya? ;3

  7. Big Hero 6 - As it turns out, Disney decided to rebrand the Big Hero 6 characters and make it look more modernized. So modernized that Baymax went from an undergo design from being a monstrous nightmare to being an inflatable balloon robot health support. Which is only owned by Hiro. The film, debuted in 2014 as the first ever Marvel Studios produced animated film, following the company's acquisition by Disney themselves, tells the story of teenage mechanic and medical assistant, Hiro Hamada and Baymax, as they up four friends, known as Fred, GoGo, Wasabi and Honey Lemon, as they track down Professor Robert Callaghan, aka, the supervillain terrorist who killed Hiro's brother, Tadashi, following a horrifying explosion massacre. It may have a sad scene where Hiro abandons Baymax within a portal, but still holds out as the best. Hiro and HIccup being best BFF's anyone? :D

  8. Despicable Me - Back before Universal had the opportunity to join in the animation industry with Despicable Me being the first animated blockbuster, we had everything we needed. From Sonic to Zelda, Pac Man to classic 90s Nicktoons, anime to pinball, and even from computers to pizza, it's everything that were all great! But not as great as the producer of all things Illumination himself, Chris Meledandri. Now, if you don't know who it is, he was a former president of 20th Century Fox Animation before he discovered that the current Ice Age film series was taken over by Carlos Saldahna. His worst fear? Well, you don't wanna find out. Anyway, he left Fox to visit a place where he tried to fit in at other studios like Paramount (Nope); Sony (Nope); Warner Bros. (Nope) and even Disney (Nope). But then, when all seemed almost lost, he discovered Universal Studios Hollywood. And that's where his last destination was; and soon, he met the guys over at the Universal office and said, "Hey! Good news and better news. The good news is, I'm free from Fox. But the better news is, this is the part where you guys are getting your own animation company!" And in 2007, Illumination Entertainment was formed. Now, back to the countdown! Despicable Me was an animated comedy action film that tells the story of Gru, a supervillain who now becomes a dad to his adopted daughters. He is also a caretaker of the minions, who are yellow and small and cute (in my opinion), and they're always fun loving whenever they do silly things. But the main antagonist was Gru's rival, Vector, who recently stole the Egyptian Pyramid from a very long time ago. After making sense for all the things he's caused, he decided to go from a bad supervillain to being a good dad. And after that, around Despicable Me 2, he became a villain turned hero of a super spy. Look out, James Bond! There's a new spy that's totally gonna scare away your precious lion out. That goes to that 50 ton... whatever it is who is an influence to my dad, recently. But still, go ahead and watch Despicable Me; it's essentially good! Or, if you want, you can simply ignore the minions' craziness and such; I won't mind.

  9. Wreck It Ralph - Let's go back to the eighties, where everything was all about video games. Just inserting a coin and you'd get Fix it Felix! But that's not a true hero we're talking about; it's Wreck It Ralph! Or, just Ralph in this case. Voiced by John C. Reilly, the film involves a video game villain who tires of being the "bad guy". In order to avoid getting thrown out and breaking blocks for no reason, he heads out to Hero's Duty by simply stealing one of the NPC's clothes and heads inside. Meanwhile, Q-Bert heads to the Fix It Felix area and convinces to the team that Ralph has "gone Turbo", which leads Felix to be on the hunt to look for him. In Hero's Duty, the Sergeant was not impressed by Ralph's clumsiness, so he ignores her orders and gets the medal from a giant tall building. Unfortunately, this awakens the robotic wasps and sends him to a place called Sugar Rush, a racing arcade game that has a dessert themed world with racers being just like kids. He meets Vanellope (voiced by Sarah Silverman), who demands the medal be brought back by him, but when she didn't had a chance, this made Ralph so angry, they made a deal of getting it back. Just then, a vile threat named King Candy holds out a dark secret that's in him. With Felix and Sergeant formed to look for Ralph, Felix then tells the sergeant the backstory of what the term Turbo was about. Mr. Turbo was a former race car driver that was overlooked by another game called Astro Blasters. And then glitchy nightmares struck, as he attempts to escape his former life and move into a new game called Sugar Rush. After getting through all the hassle, the race had been interrupted by the wasps, and King Candy was revealed as Mr. Turbo, much to both Felix's shock and Vaneloppe's confusion respectively. After holding out the last punch in a volcano, Ralph lets out a lava geyser that kills the wasps, including a deformed Mr. Turbo, and everything went completely back to normal. Featuring cameo appearances by Sonic the Hedgehog, Ryu, Ken, the Root Beer Bartender, M. Bison, Zangief, Clyde and even frickin' Skrillex, this is one of the most amazing movies that you've gotta see it to believe it.

  10. Toy Story - Way back in the eighties, before Toy Story was invented and had well known mastermind Tom Hanks and Christmas historian Tim Allen become the Woody and Buzz of imaginated adventures, Pixar was originally a computer based product of selling a giant box that featured a prototype logo with a ball. Their only source prior to film making were only five shorts: The Adventures of Andre and Wally B.; Luxo Jr.; Red's Dream; Tin Toy and even Knick Knack. And then, like 8 years later, the company got back to their senses and debuted Geri's Game. I wonder if he ever heard of the NEW Nintendo 3DS XL? Nah, I don't wanna hear all that gobbledygook from him; I'd be annoyed. But, with Pixar as the full on animators of Disney, Toy Story was the first Disney film to be computer animated. The film tells the story of Sheriff Woody as he becomes a rival to Buzz Lightyear, which things didn't get along with at the start. But in the end, a grand escape from Sid's toy brutalities (before learning a valuable lesson of what happens when he DOESN'T take good care of the toys instead of blowing them up) and a force joining means only one thing: Friends gotta stick together, no matter what. Also, would you actually believe that "Hakuna Matata" made an appearance in one scene where Andy, his baby sister and his mom are about to move in to a new home? The spirit of hunger never dies! :D

Okay, folks. Break's over! Everyone out of the theater now. Nah, just kidding; I hope you all enjoyed my countdown of my favorite movies. But what did you all think? Do you have a favorite animated movie? Leave a response in the comment section down below, and I'll check 'em out.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a pet chameleon to feed. (gets up from the desk chair and heads over to his room, where he is about to feed his pet chameleon, Rango, some lard)

Hey, Rango! I'm back! Well, temporarily. You hungry? Now, close your eyes, open wide, and say "ahh"! (launches a lump of lard onto his pet chameleon and gorges as his belly grows bigger and his arms and legs, including his tail, becomes grown in human size) Yeah, that's the ticket. ;)
