Hey guys!
I joined Weasyl on 17th March, but not only to get attention for my art, but also to get to know new people. =)
As most of you guys I guess, I have an account on deviantart, but switched to this site hoping that community would be more important here than money or people who put on the airs of a star.
However I want to welcome you on my page and hope you have a nice day!

I know what you mean ^-^ . I also wanted to create an account at FA, to get away from my dependence on deviantart, but I always thought it was only a drawers-site, so I couldn`t submit my photos. (However I just checked again and it seems they DO have a photography category at last =D )
What do you like more FA or weasyl, I don`t know whether to try it out aswell ^^?-
I've been watching photographers on FA for years, so I wasn't aware that there ever was a problem with submitting photos. FA also has some great musicians, FoxAmoore being a fantastic example. I'm not yet sure which I like better. I'm very used to FA and the way they do things over there. I like the general look of Weasyl and the way you can respond to shouts etc, but I wish the front page of an artist would show a few of their most recent favourites, as I find that's a great way to discover new art and artists I like. Weasyl seems very quiet compared to FA, but then FA has been around a lot longer and has tons more users. There's an awfully lot of porn in FA, but you can easily filter that out.
I would definitely recommend setting up an account in FA to see how you yourself like it there. If you do, you will be able to find me under the same username over there as well (I think I have about 5 years worth of art uploaded over there).

You are right, I should really try it! The only thing I noticed at first sight is that there seems to be a lot of ads around the site...
I just tried to register, but it tells me it can`t verify, because I haven`t enabled cookies (Which I have enabled). So I`ll try again later. I`m already curious of the pictures you have over there :3
And I`ve heard that about the tons of porn, which is also a reason I never really cared to make an account there, but if you can disable to see them, then I guess I can live with it ^^-
Good luck getting your account verified! In your profile settings, you can designate whether you want to see the mature art work or not. I'm fairly sure the default has adult/mature works disabled anyway, but I can't remember for certain. Looking far enough back in my gallery there will be like a bad trip down memory lane... O_o

Welcome to Weasyl! (Although I've only been here two days longer than you. ^_^)
My main account is still over at FurAffinity, but I also have an old DA account. I got bored with it after a while though and stuck to just FA. I thought I ought to check out Weasyl now that it's open to everyone and I must say I like it so far. I've met some really nice people already. ^_^
