Sorry For All the Spam! by egyptiandragon
Super sorry for all the spam that I just did (and in advance for the future!), but, since I do wanna catch up over here and re-cement my place here and be consistent like I used to be a couple years ago before my computer troubles really screwed me up....
That being said, the spam will happen a couple more times, I'm gonna do a few bursts and I'm only uploading the things here that I'd like to have up. I'm not going to be deleting anything from my FA much like I've never deleted stuff from my DA, I'm just going to be a little more selective on my uploads here until I'm all caught up and settled~
I'm going to upload a few things that are on pre-made bases, but I'm only going to upload the ones where I put more honest effort into making them look nice, not just pure recolors on fully shaded bases unless I feel I went a full step beyond in the coloring.
So, how is everyone on Weasyl?

I can understand that view, it's really something that can undermine someone's true talent if they come to just rely on the bases all of the time instead of having faith in the talent that they have. I enjoy bases to an extent, usually for a quick little mini-work between larger works as a break, or a little extra practice, or even just something cute to at least pay some of my characters mind if I don't have as much time on my hands. Though I always worry that others might think the base is fully my work or that they may discredit my actual work as base-work too when they see me using them, so I do try to limit the usage and have been hesitant in the past with uploading them. Although I do think the little bit of extra elbow grease to make them really pop past being a base into something unique helps with that~
I look forward to seeing more of your uploads here then~ I've honestly liked Weasyl better and I think it's a much calmer community here!

Yes. I like to pay for ych-style bases because they are often very cheap ways to get art of some characters I may not pay as much attention to.

After camping all weekend I am very sore and this is something I can do quite easily.

Definitely~ Despite being sore, it sounds like it was something fun though (or at least I hope it was)! I haven't been camping in awhile myself.

I agree with Mao. If the bases are serving a true purpose (either an artist trying to get a ref for their 'sona that they cannot otherwise afford......or someone taking effort to go beyond the base), it's acceptable. But there are, as Mao said, really great artists who start using only bases to sell work...............and that is kind of a bit sad.
I'm behind on scanning things, due to being pretty sick lately. I am still not 100% yet...............and not sure when I'll get back to 100% health. sigh I've gone to bed at like 7 p.m. almost every night since last Thursday................

I agree as well, I've watched someone become that way for awhile and it was really sad in the end, though there's more to the story and much of it I'd rather not get into. I know I have a lot of characters and I grabbed up a couple bases for the purpose of just trying to give them a simple ref at the very least and occasionally a little cute piece to go with, but I try to at least make it look like effort went in, match lines/style/etc. Something I can at least look back at and say, "yeah, that was on a base, but at least I made it look nice and not just hastily made on a base."
I can kinda feel ya on that one, the season of being sick is on us I think since I've been sick this weekend myself... x.x On that note, I do hope you get better soon and are able to catch up on scanning! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your stuff and getting to fav it individually~ I love seeing it on toyhouse, but it makes me sad I can't favorite individual works there too at times.

I haven't been like this sick in so long. Thought my stomach was feeling better, so I ate more solid food today.........and stomach did not like that, unfortunately. Looks like it's back to soup and juice again. headdesk

Oh gosh, it sounds like a really back stomach flu or similar. :( Maybe try some lighter toast with the soup and see how that goes for keeping your stomach settled? I know bland foods and bananas tend to help the most with keeping it easy on your stomach when it's upset. I really hope you get better soon! ;w;<33

There are so many weird bugs going around right now and working in a public building......it's a good place to get the ick. @_@
My sister thinks I should go to an urgent care.......there's one across the street from the Library. So......I might consider that tomorrow.......especially if there's no change.

It sounds like a really good idea if things don't seem to get any better, they might know what it is and be able to give you antibiotics for it~ You take care of yourself and relax too though~<3

I know I have to try hard to get through tomorrow............I have to do interviews for a new part-timer. But after waking up kinda icky, by the afternoon I wasn't having the aches anymore and am actually really, REALLY hungry right now. We'll have to see how things go after I eat. But definitely by Thursday, if there's still stomach problems, I'll be going SOMEWHERE, since it would be a week of the condition by then. I tried hard to do it on my own, but..............! @_@

Sometimes going to the doctor is the only thing you can do in the end to make sure you get better! ;w; I hope things have at least started to improve by the time I'm posting this! >w<

Ah-ha-ha....I went to the ER last night and they seemed to dismiss all the stomach pain and focused on the panic attack I had (because of the pain). I don't know what to do now....... sigh

I don't mind bases at all. They allow people who are good at coloring or basic edits only to still enjoy art. The only thing I mind about bases is when people who are otherwise good artists move over to using /only/ bases. I feel like this doesn't allow them to grow and improve and limits us as viewers to only seeing a few poses.
