Dodged a bullet by Ginpu

Hurricane Matthew shifted itself 20 miles east at the most crucial time for my town. We got hit, but the damage was minimal. I was safe in the shelter as were my husband and cats. Friday my husband headed home around 12:00 and by 14:00 power had been restored. Yay!

I had to stay at the shelter for the remainder of Friday, until 19:00 and returned on Saturday morning from 07:00-12:00. After we packed up I still had to help unload all the equipment at work, finally ending my tour after 13:00. Needless to say, I only got a one day weekend, I am still tired, achy and exhausted from the whole ordeal. All in all it was a positive experience. It was my first time at the Special Needs Shelter since acquiring this job 6 years ago. I could not have asked for a less chaotic storm to get that experience under my belt.
