Why?
Why Disney?
I know there's a live action Dumbo remake on your list, but The Lion King?
I can understand The Jungle Book and I can understand why you want to do it because of the technology now and it looked great with The Jungle Book. And it was successful. And I know there are some fans out there that actually want to see a live action Lion King. But here's why it won't work and their arguments about a Lion King live action movie is invalid.
It worked with Jungle Book and it might work with Dumbo because there are human characters in it. The Lion king has NONE. There's nothing that can make The Lion King live action. It's all mainly just animals. It won't look live action. It'll look like a CGI animated movie. Because technically it'll be a CGI animated movie.
I don't get it. I can understand why Disney wants to make live action remakes, but there are some that cannot be done and shouldn't be done, but there are many others that can be done. Like Sword in the Stone, Mulan, Aladdin, Hercules, Atlantis, Tarzan. Hell, I would love to see them remake The Black Cauldron and make it live action. At least THAT movie needs a remake. Course, people will say it's a rip off of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, but it can be done.
Not a movie that has nothing, but animals and no humans.

It'll end up being a CGI movie with pretty backgrounds, and that's about it.
Hopefully this (and Jungle Book, and their other remakes lately) doesn't signal Disney is entering a "we have no ideas, let's rerelease things that did well instead" phase
