Got a chance to try Bolognese longsword fencing at a place on the West Slope called Academia Duellatoria. This marks my first entry into Historic European Martial Arts (HEMA).

It was just me, Kobi, and the instructor. He told us it usually gets very quiet in September so we had private lessons for the price of a regular drop-in.

I need a lot of practice to really get this, but every moment I learned something new and I got a pretty satisfying workout from this. It was challenging but exciting and a fun way to burn an hour and a half.

I want to do this on a regular basis. Not sure how I'm going to budget it because I'm living off the help of family. But now that I'm out of work I need exercise. I could tell that the job had left me with a bit of muscle development and stamina and I'd like to keep that if at all possible.
