I entered The Tracking Board's Launchpad screenwriting competition last night.
This one is a bit different. They have cash prizes too but they focus more on signing writers. They guarantee that a small number of writers who enter will either get signed to a contract or get their script optioned. It's legit as far as I can tell. I think Ridley Scott is somehow involved but I forget the specifics.
Hoping that my screenplay (which I tweaked just a little bit before submitting) will do better in competitions based more on what would make a good, entertaining movie than on The Academy's stunted view of artistry.
