FA vs. FN. vs Weasyl?? also PLANS FOR ANTHROCON 2016 by StarsTheMutt
Everyone knows the garbage going down with FA and FN as of late (if you dont, feel free to ask)
so needless to say i'll be updating HERE first, then FN, then FA.. i'm testing the waters to see if it's
worth the move. as it is, i've already set Weasyl as my home page due to reports i've been seeing
that since the site went down - FA has had issues with users getting browser hijackers and other
malicious software/viruses by simply browsing.. not sure how valid that is, but i'm not going to
risk my beautiful beast of a laptop to find out..
ANYWAY, all this being said, this year is going to be an experience...
In other news, I will be attending AnthroCon2k16 this year (as I have for the last 5years)
and I've signed up for an artist ally table for Saturday and Sunday :3 provided I get the table
(which i most likely will) I'll be there all day selling sketches, badges, maybe some stickers,
and if i can swing it - a fursuit partial i've been working on (though i have to get it furred in
less than a month and i've got a million other things going on, so we'll see how this goes)..
Any of you going to AC this year? Hit me up! I'd love to chat at the con! :D

yeah me too. i'm going to try to be active on Weasyl and FN over FA.. too much has gone wrong in the last two years alone and i just get a headache every time i think about it...
YOU SHOULD GOOOOOOO~ it's so much fun ;w; if not this year, next year would be cool. i've gone every year since i graduated highschool, so i'll most likely be there next year too.

owned and hosted by BadDragon's Varka, who also owned and hosted http://www.herpy.net/ (which recently got shut down apparently? if you click the link it shows you Varka's message to the Herpy community.) for a while the admin team of Herpy allowed reptile bestiality, which in turn caused alot of users to view FN in a negative light.. i'm still pretty uncomfortable about it, but i'm waiting to see how everything pans out..

Not to mention Varka is also transphobic and racist, from what I hear. (hadn't heard about the reptile bestiality site... yuck)

honestly, i would like to see some user-related ads like FA had (they're really good at getting users noticed)
and it would help support the site more, but maybe keep it so it's only links to people's user pages? idk

If you use their forums to ask things, how about a darker theme for the text areas, and notes showing reply trees? Honestly my two only real gripes about this site. If fixed I would definitely use it more.

From what I saw before a journal was removed on FA. Furrynetwork might be allowing cub porn.

I'm not seeing it directly referenced, but I believe FN is US based, and if so, that kind of content is usually strictly forbidden and illegal. here's their TOS https://about.furrynetwork.com/ and their AUP https://about.furrynetwork.com/acceptable-use-policy/ (which flat out says "No uploads of content or information that is illegal or otherwise violates the Furry Network Code of Conduct") which, like I said, more than likely covers the cub porn question.
The most I'm seeing is a reference to "age play" usually defined as someone acting a different age than what they are (ex: an adult character dressing and acting like a baby. Is still an adult, only acting out a scene) but no actual references to cub porn. I'll send them an email for clarification..

I really hope weasyl picks up. It's honestly a great site that just needs an active population to be the best around.
FN is... well, ugly, and cumbersome. And of course, FA has always been a big stinking pile of shite. But anyhow.
Anthrocon... I really want to go one of these years. Maybe this year, but I doubt it. Definitely planning for next year, though!
