School Exam Haunted House Tour Pagan Ritual
Dream last night

I played the full version of Civ V for the first time, including its bewildering design-your-own religion system. (I created a version of Christianity out of a Sky God for historical purposes, but, really loved it seemed to encourage pagan experimentation, and felt conflicted about that.)

I was back in university and taking a preliminary exam, to see if a week later I would be worthy to take the real exam.

It seemed to go alright, but I was very stressed and looking forward to nothing but a week of studying. My friends offered me a ride home across the city - a group of RL friends I never had IRL, all suprisingly well-developed characters with photoreal faces, unique personalities, and backgrounds.

Instead of taking me home, they took a turn for a cluster of haunted houses, because, as the dark-haired girl said, "You seem like you could use a little cheering up, and we know how much you like weird and creepy stuff." Which is true, and it was fun and relaxing.

The largest of the haunted houses was an old architectural experiment, interesting in itself, this mansion made of 4 domes supporting a larger dome across them, so it was a high vaulted space of old wood, and a wide open floorplan. People would tour it in normal hours just for the historic architecture. It was also rumored, possibly just because of its shape, to be the most haunted.

The black guy then performed a pagan invokation of a Thunder God, less elaborate ritual and more reading from a 3-ring binder stuffed full of notes on old rituals and the haunted houses in the area, and sure enough, at the end of it, there was a loud bang.

They then said that this meant the portal (to the spirit world?) in the place was reset, but not actually open.

The dream then ended.

I felt good after this dream, though it's sad that I dream of having the sort of friends I wished I had, who knew me and the crazy stuff I love and would do something like this just because they knew I was feeling down. I doubt I will ever know anyone like these people, it's just an elaborate work of fiction and real life doesn't work that way, too I wanna say My Little Pony-ish to care about someone that way. I'd love for this to be a preview of the future but know it isn't.
