I'm going to stay online. For one thing, social media is the only place I have right now where I can make contacts with real life friends. For another, being without someone to talk to if things go bad will be a huge detriment to my own well-being. And for a third, harassment of the types I've been so worried about has always been used as a means of getting me to stop participating in life and essentially sabotage myself in the process. Since this situation includes a real-life neighbor who may be doing this because of actual concerns about my noise level or may be doing because they don't like my weird beliefs, my use of Internet-based social media isn't the problem, but rather my behavior is or their intolerance is, one of the two.

Getting off social media would be essentially shooting myself in the foot to maintain a false sense of security. Change feels good, but the wrong kind of change can have disastrous consequences.

As for the noise complaints, well, I'll keep quiet in real life, but if this turns out to be related to my new dragon curtains, which have only been up for a few days and depict animals that some religious beliefs insist are demonic, then I fear that no amount of quieting down or anything else short of removing the curtains and/or re-converting to Christianity, neither one of which am I willing to do to appease an asshole neighbor, will be enough to stop the onslaught. In such a case, I'll be needing all the external support I can get, even if it's just moral support from people I know online.
