Taking a weekend off. I experienced a huge crash after the screenplay was finished.

Next week I've got projects to get on. I just hope I can get moving again.

Also, a thought: I'll be lucky to sell my screenplay for any amount. As much as I'd like to make that big sale and pay off all our debts, reality bites. I have to consider a smaller sale to an indie producer if the chance comes.

I did an I Ching reading on Monday and it was Hexagram 15, Temperance, that came up. The imagery of hexagram 15 is of a mountain buried beneath the earth, something that is mighty but not boastful. Reflecting on the meaning of that, I take it as a reminder that as much as I want to burst on the scene with a big hit out of the gate, I shouldn't let that be my guiding principle. I need to trust that my gifts are robust enough to bring success at an organic pace if one small success follows another, and I need to remember to take a measured response to success and failure alike. Big goals are fine, but they cannot be all-consuming.
