So few people draw Julie-Su..............especially since the Penders lawsuit made her non-existent anymore. That could be nice to see! :)

who are the Penders if i may ask. im not a Archie sonic reader. i only own 3 of them lol

Ken Penders was a writer for the comic...and a lot of people who loved the characters he created for the comic are really infuriated with him because when Archie Comics dismissed him (he really wrecked the comic--and I always thought he was an egomaniac myself), he decided to SUE them for the rights to the characters he created, so he could create his own comic with them. But to be honest...since Sega held the license and he was creating characters based on a Sega base of design, I think he would've lost no matter what. But because this was America...and not Japan (where the Sega designs for the Sonic series were created)...the lawsuit ended with Penders being able to keep the NAMES of his characters and Archie Comics being able to keep the likenesses. So...........nobody really won, because Penders can use all the names he likes, but without their likenesses he won't have the fan-base and otherwise he's writing fan-fiction he EXPECTS TO BE PAID FOR...and Sega took over creative direction at Archie and won't let them use the likenesses. That's why the comic had a massive reboot that changed everything. sigh All Penders did in the end was make the comic's loyal fanbase hate him and wind up creating a knockoff webcomic using the names he came up with. :/

ohhhh just a butthurt grown man?
but i can see where he's coming from though, thoese characters are his, but he acted like a baby for it.

Yep...that's what Penders became. It's more or less that he had intention of making money on the characters so decided to sue for them. He's not 100% wrong, but if he had to go to extremes for such a thing, he would have been better off creating his own characters and world instead of doing what would be like fanfiction! He took it too far and in the end it was the fans of the comic that suffered and gave a poor view of the guy who created beloved comic characters. I think he should have gone on to create his own thing...he could have kept his fans and maybe gotten more. :)

To me...I think as long as you are creating for a licensed book/comic, even if you made them up, you should accept they're not technically yours because another company came up with the base character designs.
