Hello everyone!

This is meant to be my intro to the new year / resolutions and promises journal. It’s kind of a bad sign that I’m posting it a month or so late now, but hopefully I can only improve on things from this point afterwards.

First off, I had a pretty decent Christmas. I got to spend some quality time with a couple good friends thanks to the apartment, some time with family, got to see a few of my favorite specials, and I got some cool presents.

Here’s a brief summary of some things I’ve gotten:

• Wii U games: Xenoblade Chronicles X, Minecraft, Kung Fu Panda Showdown of Legendary Legends, and Fast Racing Neo
• 3 amiibo figures: Falco, Pac Man, and Ike
• 2 controllers primarily for PC gaming: Logitech F310 and Zhidong N
• “The Secret of NIMH” movie soundtrack and Thriving Ivory’s “Through Yourself and Back Again” CD
• 2 new figure pieces for my Dungeon Dice Monsters board game: Energy Disc and Exploding Disc
• a WarTech utility knife
• a tech/device valet drawer set

Since then, I’ve also been increasing my animated movie/DVD collection by obtaining a collection of classic Christmas favorites, including the Rankin/Bass specials “The Year Without a Santa Claus”, “Rudolph’s Shiny New Year”, and “Rudolph and Frosty’s Christmas in July” (3 of my all-time favorite Christmas specials to watch). I’ve also obtained “An American Tail: Fievel Goes West”, which I hadn’t seen in ages, and I FINALLY completed my Balto collection by getting “Balto III: Wings of Change” on DVD. I now officially own all the important source material for all three of my childhood heroes! You guys should know who they are by now.

Last year started off well, I’d like to think. I started a brand new epic story that I didn’t just give up on after a couple of chapters like usual (it’s been more like 10 X3), graduated from college, got an apartment with a couple good friends, and got my first real job. These more recent months, however, have put me into a real slump. My job ended back in December, and my work ethic elsewhere has been incredibly and shamefully unproductive. I haven’t even been getting on IMs as much as I used to.

While previously concerned about paying next month’s rent though, it appears there may be a way to work things out for it so I can manage at least one extra month. I’ve also found an additional partial income in delivering for the magazine I already work freelance for, so I’ll have more than an extra hundred bucks every month now too. So, the year seems to be at a good start for me.

I’m also getting excited for some things coming this year. The springtime is going to be BIG for games for me, with Twilight Princess HD and Pokken Tournament coming out for Wii U in March, then Star Fox Zero coming out in April. I’m really excited/anxious about all three of those titles! The new Zelda is supposed to come out this year too, along with at least a lot more information about the new NX if not a release for it.
I’m also noticing a LOT of movies I would like to see this year. Summer is going to be great for Marvel once again, although it’s a shame that Guardians 2 got pushed back to 2017, and I’m interested to see how DC’s efforts will work out. There’s going to be a STAGGERING amount of animated movies, too! I’ve already seen and enjoyed “Kung Fu Panda 3”, and there’s still great-looking efforts such as “Zootopia”, “The Secret Life of Pets”, “Storks”, “Kubo and the Two Strings”, “Finding Dory” and more left to look forward to! This is going to be a FANTASTIC year for animated movies!

As a resolution for this year, I would like to return my attention to you guys. I want to be more productive when it comes to submissions for FA and DeviantArt (and Weasyl maybe?), and I want to be more active on IMs like Steam and Skype.

• Stories introducing more of my newer characters (Andrew Y. Koopa, Conner Coon, etc.)
• A possible “Kung Fu Panda” fanfiction
• some requests

I’m also working on a “Year in Music” summary piece to put up hopefully soon. Back in the day, I would do these practically every year on DeviantArt, but this is the first time in a while that I’ve even tried to do one. I’ve got all the data I need, so now it’s just a matter of writing it out.
There’s also a summary thing for Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer that I’ll eventually need to post, as it will be crucial to clarify that information before the Christmas Special.
