Use Reference in order to get a certain pose?

I mean you can't just simply make up a character without having to misuse body proportions right?? You obviously need to LOOK at SOMETHING in order to get the proportions correct. I mean for example, in the movie Alice in Wonderland I learned (The cartoon film) They used real people in order to get their movements right- So whats so wrong with using references here? Nobody really follows that rule right? :/ If so what do you use then?

Also my friend "Apologized" to me about having an outburst with saying that even old Loki makes his gay moments with Thor. I am a HUGE fan/ shipper of Thorki but she just bashed on my fav ship. And it's pretty hypocritical when she snapped at me. I honestly feel like my friend takes her anger out on only me?? Because it's weird that she's NOT a fan of Loki MCU (Even though Tom hiddleston plays that character) and she's not a fan of teen Loki like I am and she's not a fan of kid Loki...Which Loki is she only a fan of? That's right old saggy comic book Loki. (I kinda like him too cause he's veery sarcastic and he doesn't take things as seriously) But I'm not as huge of a fan as I am with MCU Loki, teenager Loki, and kid Loki! So she was basically discriminating what I liked?? And this annoyed me because she just posted a picture of a drawing of million of Loki's she doodled and she's like "My friend challenged me to get this sighed by Tom Hiddleston with the blank space up top! Challenge accepted!!" And this annoys me because she never liked Tom Hiddleston at the beginning yet she doesn't like the Loki MCU even though Tom Hiddeston plays that character...? I don't know i think I made her fangirl over my fav British actor on that one. It's just super annoying cause she thinks she can get her artwork signed by Tom. And I swear to god if she gets that I will be annoyed as hell. I mean I have an autograph of Tom myself, but I never got it personally signed from him. It was a christmas present. But still I'm just annoyed she's starting to fangirl over Tom hiddleston even though she doesn't like the Loki MCU (Which Hiddleston plays) And she thinks she can get her artwork autographed by Tom. -.- UGH. Whenever she likes something I know she's determined to get it. For example she knows this REALLY awesome cosplayer LokiHatesYou and she like frigen talks to him and Thor tv. Just UGH. So annoying!! And whenever I try to talk to someone I like, no matter how much I support these people I get FRIGEN NOTHING. A great big fat ZERO. Common guys, you should know how I feel when it comes to stuff like this!
