Russel is a raptor-like extraterrestrial being from the planet Athens, which his species, the Athenians. is named after. He has immigrated to Earth from his home planet.

Russel's interests include anime & manga, video games, rock music, and competitive shooting sports (particularly skeet shooting).

Russel flusters easily from teasing, as long as it isn't too mean-spirited. While he is a shy, socially awkward nerd, he has immense physical strength due to his species being adapted to a planet with high gravity and harsher environments than seen on Earth.
