Andrew Bellingworth, a mild-mannered volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary, loved birds, especially corvids. His other big love was superheroes, their tight brightly-coloured spandex outfits and endless acts of selfless heroism being a huge inspiration to him. Although he never had much in the way of money, he had a very kind heart and only wished he could do more to help people like his heroes did.

One fateful night, something shot from the sky and crashed into Andrew's garden. Upon finding it, he found that it was a small, glowing stone. Taking it back inside and unable to sleep, he decided to read some comics for a while, idly imagining a superhero bird and wishing he could become that hero.

As it turned out, the stone he was holding was a piece of a Wishing Star, and Andrew was incredibly surprised to find his wish would come true, as he suddenly transformed into a muscular raven, wearing purple spandex and a cape! From then on, through use of a Secret Magic Word, he could transform into Radical Raven, avian superhero and protector of all the good people!

His superpowers include supersonic flight, super strength, telepathic communication with birds, perfect imitation of another person's speech (and even noises like car engines, telephones and computers), a beak attack and a sonic attack. He's rather mischievous and playful, often toying with supervillains and even other superheroes, but he also has an endless well of empathy and the ability to give the greatest hugs.
