Isabel has been Jess’s best friend since they were both kids. In essence little more than mischief wrapped up in an orange fur coat and a cheesy smile, Isabel has always prided herself on her outspoken beliefs and her never-ending ability to annoy other animals and burn the un-burnable.

While she may seem gruff and harsh to those who don't know her, she is also an incredibly loyal and caring animal that would die for her friends.

The third in the trio, Isabel, came later. I realised after about twenty or so practice strips with Reuben and Jess that I needed another character. There was only so much talking between two guys that you can do without repeating yourself or becoming predictable. So I needed a catalyst, something to help them launch off on stuff and storylines, and to get another aspect. I quickly decided that the character should be female, and as I could only draw canines to any proficiency, I decided to make her a vixen. Granted, many other strips have vixens that are mischievous and the like (Ozy and Millie, Mynarski Forest), but I tried to make her a bit different. I liked the idea of making her a borderline psychotic, one that even her best friends are a little scared of. Her name is taken from a girl I used to have a crush on in High School.
