Yosh is a shy wolf that strives to help and protect his friends to the point where he'd sacrifice himself if his friends were in danger. He is very selfless and lives to assist others when they need help and always tries to help a friend find the right path for them.
He is honest with all that he does. Even in situations where most would either be blunt or make a white lie, he would be honest, yet considerate of other's feelings as well as give advice.
To add to his honest nature, he is also very insightful and perspective, helping him to intuit the true intentions of those around him.
He may express little emotion at the start, but he has strong emotions that can sometimes get the best of him, especially when he tries to mask them from others.
He sometimes gets envious of others talents when they're greater than his own and sometimes becomes demoralized, understanding that it usually takes dedicating lots of time and effort, believing that he won't be as good as those he looks up to. Similarly, he will get envious of others if their possessions seem wondrous to him, wishing to have something like it for himself and falling into self pity, believing that he will never be able to acquire anything similar.
He is also very affectionate to his friends and always loves spending time with them, though he can sometimes be too clingy. He can also be very tenderhearted.
He likes creating new things out of craft materials such as paper or cardboard, exploring new places, and learning new things. He easily makes connections and forms a web of knowledge that spans between what he knows about various things. For a Mii his age, he knows and understands a great deal more than most.
He can be pretty lazy and tends to shy away from exercising. He is more of a thinker than a doer after all.
He has volcanic anger. When he begins getting angry, he becomes quieter and focuses on retaining his composure, but once his anger gets the best of him, he releases his anger by smashing objects (instead of harming others). Of course, this is a last resort.
Due to having a past filled with loneliness and despair, Yosh is able to handle a lot of distress. But if he is overwhelmed by it, he will lose heart and fall into despair. His depressing past has also caused him to have low self worth.
Yosh lives in his past for he sometimes misses things that once made him happy. Things have changed in his life that are both good and bad. Unfortunately, he is affected more by the bad than the good.
He is moderately optimistic, but is also very pessimistic. While he can see much good, the bad can affect him quite strongly, leading him to look at the future forlornly. He doesn't have an inclination to be more optimistic though. He is very much aware that you cannot experience the good without experiencing the bad. In fact, he may unconsciously attempt to amplify negative experiences in order to feel positive experiences more strongly.
At first, when questioning situations, he will look for rational explanations. However, if no amount of rational thought can provide a satisfactory answer, he does not close himself off from the belief in different forces, be they magical, spiritual, or divine.
He has great resolve, but has a lot of self-doubt. Self-doubt is usually confused with a lack of motivation, but this is not the case for Yosh. To put it simply, he lacks faith in himself and his abilities. Because of this, he has a strong desire to do more good in order to counterbalance his self-doubt. To add to this, he is also idealistic, so he always tries to find the best way to do more good. In many ways, this is a wonderful quality, but for Yosh, it can sometimes manifest as self-sacrifice. There really can be such a thing as too much of a good thing.
He has poor resilience and needs a significant amount of time to recover from emotional stress. However, he has excellent perseverance, allowing him to go the distance without need of assistance.
He is an altruistic individual, every action he makes will always be for good instead of evil.
He is so well meaning and kindly that he can be quite magnanimous. If he were to find himself in a competition or pitted against another person, he will be quite friendly and forgiving toward that person.
He has arachnophobia, so he fears spiders a great deal. This is an irrational fear though, while he may understand that spiders aren't bad, he can't help but fear them anyway. He also fears losing friends and/or quarrelling with them, for he has lost contact with old friends due to moving. Because of this, he does everything he can to be on good terms with them and stay with them as long as he can to decrease the chance of losing them.
Yosh is a bit of a wanderer, he doesn't really have a home. But he has chosen not to have a home for he doesn't really know what he wants in life. He wishes to learn all he can and find where he feels he belongs before setting down roots.

He can transform into a humanoid wolf not unlike a werewolf. In his wolf form, he has increased strength, increased speed, increased agility, increased stamina, increased HP and MP, and HP and MP regeneration. He also has traits that are usually stereotypical for most dogs such as a bigger appetite, loyalty (you could argue that he was already loyal in his Mii form), and more endurance. He can also move fairly easily on all fours. He also has power over darkness in this form.

As a Mii character, he's a cleric similarly to how he is in the game Miitopia. He can use MP for a variety of abilities mainly used to heal his allies, but he can learn other ways of using MP.
He is capable of hovering a short distance above the ground as long as he has at least 1 MP.
He can also jump glide like Luigi in New Super Luigi U, though, he can't jump anywhere near as high as Luigi, let alone, Mario.
He has also been racing in Mario Kart races since Mario Kart Wii Races were still taking place.
He is also capable of using his hands without his arms and hovering in a way that would suggest he is walking but without legs.

As a Mii, he usually wears the clothing all Mii characters have access to, a shirt of the Mii's favorite color and a pair of gray pants. He may wear a white button up shirt and tuxedo vest with a bowtie. If he feels particularly formal, he'll also wear a top hat.
As a Mii cleric, he usually wears Yoshi Clothing and holds a Squeaky Staff. He may sometimes wear vestments and hold a different staff, mostly Prayer Vestments and a Jeweled Staff.
In his wolf form, he usually wears a blue collar with a gray metallic tag. He may sometimes wear a blue bandanna instead.
He always wears blue round glasses.
