TROI stands for Technological Replicant Organic Intelligence, because her creator Helena (and myself) suck at coming up with names. She was designed to be the perfect assistant and confidant for Helena in her travels and experiments, and is equipped with all the latest size changing technologies that the 31st century can provide. She comes off as somewhat emotionless, but is very protective of her creator.
