Physical Description:

Nathan is a male raccoon with an athletic build. When on duty he is always dressed in his armor. Off duty he prefers pants and a tunic.

Biographical Data:

Nathan Merrick joined the Red Guard at a young age under Captain Marcus Weathers. He served the elite city defense unit with distinction rising to the rank of Lieutenant. His preferred weapon is a sword.

Residing in the octagon shaped city of Orpheus with his wife, Claire Merrick, he was sent on a mission to pursue a mysterious Doberman woman for reasons his captain kept to himself. He assumed command after Captain Weathers was killed in the pursuit of this woman. After a year of searching for her the unit returned home to resume their duties.

Captain Nathan Merrick now commands the unit his predecessor left behind. The embattled soldiers do all they can to protect the city from an enemy they have no clue how to fight and are running out of time.

Personal Statement:

"My name is Nathan Merrick. I am the present leader of the Red Guard and the only line of defense between my people and something else. Some people call them Shadow Walkers, others call them nightmares. Whatever the hell they are they've killed more than half of my men and countless civilians. Nothing we do can hurt them and I'm running out of ideas.

The last thing we have going for us is the people still believe we can protect them. All we've done so far is reduce the body count and give these things something more interesting to chase. How the hell do you fight something made out of shadow and light? I stabbed one once, the sword responded as if it was cutting through air.

The governor is demanding options but I haven't any to give him. All I know is something needs to shift before I'm out of men to defend with. I've only got twelve of them left when we started with thirty six. If I'm the last one standing I'll die with a sword in my hand. Of course, that's not exactly plan A."
