Meet Rufellen

He's a Fire-footed Rope Squirrel (Funisciurus pyrropus) or he was once long ago and far away. He was bred to be a laboratory test animal and for most of his dumb life this is what he was.

During a test in which he was exposed to high amounts of cosmic radiation he started to change. Strange energy built within him, his thoughts expanded and he began to show anomalous energy readings.

His keepers decided to dispose of him but something in his jumbled thoughts reacted to their attempt to kill him and he released the energy inside of him! This discharge flattened the laboratory and tossed Rufellen out of space and time into the mist realm at the edge of reality.

He is now Rufellen, alchemist, master of the art of steam and clockwork powered science and manipulator of the elemental forces.
