Setting: The fantasy world of Eltaren

Allazar is the last of a forest-dwelling species wiped out by the rise of Delacurs, a witch of insurmountable power. His life would have been claimed by her as well, if she had not been exhausted of her abilities by the time Allazar reached her. He destroyed her physical form, but her life essence remained, something Allazar could do nothing to help. Before she was defeated, however, Delacurs poisoned Allazar with a curse that began to rot his body from the inside out. By the time he stopped her, Allazar's arm was already gone, or so it seemed. After moving on from the loss of his people, Allazar discovered that the accursed magic flowing through his rotted arm could be harnessed and used for his own means. In time, he mastered many simple spells and minor conjurations, and he continues to tap into more powerful abilities. The curse came with an interesting side effect, as well - While the magic is not killing him any further, it is also keeping him from aging, almost as if his own life essence is bound to the presence of the magic. This has led to years upon years of adventuring through the world, partially to satisfy Allazar's endless need to live on the move, and partially to continue his search for any sign of Delacurs' impending return. His adventures have led him through many tales which may go down in the greatest legends of Eltaren.
