Character Reference Sheet

Biography (yes, it's a detailed one):

Born into a long-standing colony of Virrg dragons, Quinrothee led a fairly uninteresting infancy and early childhood, other than the fact that she seemed a bit underdeveloped and somewhat nearsighted compared to the other wyrmlings. Her brain however was quite the opposite; she devoured (not literally) book after book and scroll after scroll that was given to her. Virrg dragons are somewhat more primitive and more tribal than other metadragon varieties, but are no less intelligent. She went far beyond the norm in the case of reading comprehension and writing though, and she seemed to be gifted of an incredible memory, able to recall whole story chapters as well as remembering specific locations and landmarks in the megaflora forests that she called home. It was obvious she had absolutely no interest in the roughhousing and athletics the other youngsters were partaking in, preferring to stay in her loft reading books and inventing her own pretend languages complete with symbols and script. Her parents had to come to a conclusion about where her niche would be in life, and it didn't seem like it would be in the Sylvanwood.

When she turned 16, (about 8 in human years) her parents asked her if she would be interested in enrolling in the school held in the prestigious library and mage's hub known as the Hexspire. She couldn't have been more delighted, since she was feeling an increasing amount of social isolation from the other young dragons and felt ashamed about it. Quin would spend the next ten years solid learning everything from cartography, linguistics, magical theory, calligraphy, history, archeology, paleontology and astronomy. She ended up graduating at the top of her class with majors and specialties in History, Archeology and Magical Theory. She soon earned a permanent residence and occupation as a Prime Bookkeeper in the Grand Library at the 'Spire, a very sought-after title.

Since she graduated, she has lived and worked at the Hexspire for seven years, penning magical thesis, history journals and has even been involved in important on-site field work. One such trip had her go into the mountains of Riverdale to catalog some ancient ley line markers. Unfortunately a civil war between a corrupt general of the surrounding region and freedom fighters had cropped up a month earlier and was spilling into those very mountains. Quinrothee and her surveying team were quickly captured and interrogated by the general's men, thinking they were spies. After they vehemently denied such, the general ordered them to be put to the sword, save for Quin herself.

You see, the general's lieutenant, an ambitious yatagarasu by the name of Tos'aan, saw something in her that was valuable to him. He didn't entirely know what (that is the vague power of psychic foresight, after all) so promptly handed her over to a well-spoken manticore warlord under him named Creyroos to try to find out as much as possible.

They ended up developing a bit of a rapport, but unfortunately right when Creyroos seemed to be verging on some sort of breakthrough (according to Tos'aan at least) their stronghold was assaulted by allies of the rebels, the mercenary group the Iron Medallions. In the process Quin was freed but the l'tahr hero Topaz was stranded behind enemy lines when they had to retreat.

A lot of fighting and power struggles ensued over the month, which ended up seeing Tos'aan backstabbing the general and assuming the position of power. Not only did Tos'aan possess the body of one of Topaz's ancestors, but completely annihilated a rebel fortress with ancient and forbidden magic. A few more skirmishes and Creyroos found himself more sympathetic to the rebel's cause and switched sides (and NOT because of Quin, he would assure you). The rebel leaders hit upon an idea to get rid of Tos'aan more or less permanently: to use an ancient binding and banishing ritual that was found in the Hexspire library. Creyroos and Quin lost no time in getting to the 'Spire to retrieve the scroll so she could eventually translate the text. It took a lot of harrowing escapes and more violence, but Quin eventually prevailed and helped the rebels banish Tos'aan to a far reach of the Astral.

Now she is a war hero as well as being a well-respected scholar. She also is in a steady relationship with the charming and rakish Creyroos. All she wishes now is to finally go back to her books and her writing, although she has more of a taste for travel than she used to.

~Personality~

Quin is very much a shy, reclusive introvert. She prefers to read, study and write to most everything else, such as talking and interacting with others. For her great intelligence, she is a tad naive and very blunt in social situations; this isn't because she dislikes it or anyone around her but more because she has not developed subtlety and has no concept whatsoever about "what to say and what not to say" when talking with someone, but will get very embarrassed and flustered once she figures out she's made some kind of social faux pas. She is also very curious and will not hesitate to ask questions about anything and everything. She has a rather cowardly streak though and will go to great lengths at avoiding confrontation. If she is backed into a corner however, the draconic ferocity comes to the fore and she is more than capable of taking care of herself in dire situations.

She has the funny (and very Virrg) habit of using her tail as a chair; you will usually find her doing this about 80% of the time if she's reading or studying something. She also sometimes falls asleep like this, which her colleagues and friends find rather amusing, especially Creyroos.

~Origins and Inspiration~
Various lizards, namely the Crested Gecko and skinks. Tree leaves and the color green. Her tail is influenced by the Aztec mythological creature ahuizotl, which has a hand-like appendage on the end of it's tail. I wanted to a proper dragon character that could also be identifiable as a personal character as well, hence certain habits and hobbies of hers also reflect some of mine, which includes but isn't limited to reading, calligraphy and being overly verbose.
