<i>Miles</i> Magnus Quercus is a landed but not hereditary Noble of the Equestrian Class, in the service of King Arminius I. he lives in a villa outside of Arminius' capital, and runs the Villa at a small profit, growing wheat. He is a Civilized "oak", therefor his Tribal affiliation became the name of his "tree" in Latin. He is a capable leader of troops and has had some notable military success. As such it has buffered his station from his rather abrasive and narrow minded personality. he despises barbarians and foreigners, but is admiring of Imperials, and Military Humans. Merchants he can deal with in a business-like manner as he sells crops from his villa. he is a bit overconfident, and set in his ways. (conversely he feels insecure around certain folks and overcompensates) he has few friends in court (The ones he has are loyal and served with him), but has more within the imperial Garrison. In fact he is seeing a Female Lupine Officers of Imperial Scouts, one Virinia Betula. Because of his abrasiveness, Magnus is "loaned" to a group of imperials heading East, as the Kings banner. Feeling a little stung by what he perceives as a banishment, he takes his frustrations out by belittling Asheru, who is a barbarian, much to the annoyance of the Human members of the party.
