A friend of mine was asking about him. And he's Complicated so this will take some time, and first I have to explain something about my characters.

I have different classification of characters, which is more or less only relevant to me and totally nonimportant. It's not based on how important they are to me, but it is sort of based on what i do as my primary thing in artwork.

So msot of my stuff is iconography-laden animal people who are basically all collections of symbols. The most literal version of this is my "fursona", AON, whose name is allegory-of-ness and who literally has no identity. She is a bundle of shifting symbols that = me (and the shifting is itself a symbol, as are things like her nakedness). Other characters are less symbolic. The ones I RP lately are less about symbolism and more about "I find this aesthetically pleasing or i need to do this for a plot." They become symbolic overtime and they often get alterantive selves that are more true to their identities, but often those never get drawn. Then there are characters who I designed myself, like Tea, whose species and colors and even markings sometimes ARE symbolically laden. (and tea was actually one of those who started as just a RP character who became something deeper with time.) And then you get ones like [runic algiz] here, who are basically symbol balls with identities, like ness.

Not all of these characters interact with AON. IT's not like a strict thing and i won't be offended if AON does interact with them in art, but such art is like. Different from when AON interacts with des or morph or [Runic Algiz]. The characters who interact directly with the me-character (AON) are Special and have more symbolic associations then the others do.

And I will unlikely ever write essays on their symbolism but rest assured it's there-- it's basically a hook to keep ME interested.

Anyway, [Runic Algiz] is one of those special characters who interacts with AON. I consider him a soulbrother of sorts, or a platonic soulmate. He was very primary at a very hard time in my life (as were des and morph), and i have had him for... well over a decade, though i can't figure out exactly how old he is.

Unlike Des or Morph, [runic algiz] had a different name once, that I no longer use. He also died for awhile. That hard time in my life was a period of illusory stability, and when it shattered, [runic Algiz] died. He was one of my only characters who died and Stayed Dead for years, and for a long time I would never go anywhere near reviving him. I'm not sure why. Memory ghosts, I guess. That's part of why I don't say his name anymore, even though he's alive again. Also because he's Different.

Anyway, about 6 months ago I decided that I missed him and that I loved him. So, in his canon story, I revived him from the dead.

His iconography is more stable then aON (which isn't saying much), but less stable then Des ("purple rat") or morphine ("white unicorn red hair")-- his is "Wounded little dog." He is always a papillon. He is USUALLY purple and white, but sometimes he's not. The blue on his face is because he Was Dead And Now Is Not.

His name is [runic algiz] because when I write it, it looks like the rune Algiz. In the alphabet i use in my art sometimes, that symbol stands for a different letter then Algiz does, but Algiz means "Z" and that suits him just fine.

He is genderqueer but prefers male pronouns.

He usually wears a stained shroud or cloak like this. When he is seen, he has scarring along the left side of his body, and sometimes on his left eye (which is covered by his hair). He is one of my few characters who has a static hairstyle.

PErsonality wise, he is reserved and wary and a little bit cold, but extremely sweet and sensitive to those who get past his little ice queen exterior. He can be a snoot. He's usually supportive. AON is sometimes extremely cruel to him, which is usually to illustrate a Failing (sometimes that people with Othering identities will turn their backs on their fellow Others instead of banding together and being supportive. "Self preservation first" esque.) but most of hte time, they're quite friendly and AON/I am extremely protective of him.

I think think that's everything about him. Yep.

At some point I'll make him a proper ref, but since he's not a RP character and because it's art for me, it's so low priority that it may literalyl take me years. ;;
