Who is Lavante?

Is he a love child from a relationship gone sour? Is he a remnant? A curse? A blessing? He is the hopes and dreams where there is none, and he exists... yet he doesn't.

Perhaps in some fraction of the universe, you may stumble upon him. He's rather charming, witty, and intelligent. He's funny, and serious. He tries to make the best of any situation, even if the best isn't anything good. But he'll always keep a smile on his face, and in his heart.

Or maybe you'll find him in a place where he doesn't know who he is, clinging to anything he can for love and acceptance. He needs it, thrives on it. It is his drug. It's the only thing that keeps him sane. Sometimes, in those places, and those worlds, he wishes he didn't exist. But he tries to always hold onto that glimmer of hope in his hectic mind.

And then there's some places where he just isn't. He never got a chance to be. Maybe that's for the best, maybe it isn't. But he finds a way to exist, even without existing. He lives in the hope, the bright future of tomorrow.

His story is not simple. It has been told many times, in many ways.
