Azlynn's journey begins as a young orphan who is adopted by his biological father (who, at the time, has no idea of this). As he grows up, Az begins to recognize how much different he is compared to his human peers, and this makes him feel apart from the crowd. Retreating inward due to both being physically different and socially inept from his classmates, he begins to descend into darkness and exhibits reclusive behavior. The only one who completely understands him is his father, the only person with whom he can truly connect. At around twelve years of age, he begins to clam up even more, becoming distrustful of the wider world -- exactly around the time he is approached by a mysterious figure, who offers him the chance to turn darkness into a guiding light. And thus, the boy enters the early stages of becoming what he is destined to be -- a dark knight.
