Saphiro is a main character in the comic too. He is the last of his kind, and also the creature that should never have existed. His kind had a strict rule that the two sides of the species (one resembling angels and the other resembling demons) could never mix. This was reinforced by the fact that their genes would destroy each other if they mixed. Saphiro is the one in a million chance that the genes were not destroyed. The only reason he survived the war is because his parents were so good at hiding him already. Despite the fact that he's stuck with the people that killed all of his people, he retains a very pleasant demeanor and his very friendly. He hardly ever stops smiling.
Fun Fact: He hardly every sleeps. One of the reasons for this is that if he closes his eyes he has nightmares. The other would be that he considers it a waste of time.
