Varlo is a (believe it or not) main character in the webcomic too. He has been the Royal But Advisor for Aph's family since before Aph was born and served as King during the time between Arow and Aph. He actually started his job when he was about 12 (as an apprentice) and took over as advisor when he was 15.
Varlo's father, Kann, was a legendary archer and hoped that his son would follow in his footsteps when he showed great talent. But Varlo really wanted to go a more peaceful route and settled for telling the King when he was wrong. Including his this, he has many issues with his family (mainly his father). And for some reason he has an awful fear of fire.
His best friend is one of the servants, Bertel, and he is responsible for making sure that Varlo actually remembered to eat while he was King.
Fun Fact: He has a horrible case of insomnia.
Fun Fact 2: When he's stressed, he forgets basic things such as eating.
