The husky was born in an industrial town in Canada, into a lower-middle class family. For much of his life, things were peachy keen. Getting into trouble, getting spoiled as an only child, many things like that helped to shape him. He was intelligent, at least academically. This didn't all lead to great things. He wasn't exactly the most socially accepted pup on the playground. Prone to prattling off random trivia, he found that his potential friends were either intimidated by him, or just plain didn't like him. He did find a small group of equally geeky friends, however, that helped him make it through those tedious years of switching schools purely because his academics forced him into an accelerated program. A year and a half later, and Hachiro was nearly giving up. His grades had slipped, and his behaviour had deteriorated. Not to mention, through all of this, his father's health had been steadily deteriorating, creating a strained home environment within the family, prone to fights. He spent much of his time off of school either desperately trying to visit one of his friend's or in his room away from the turmoil. Finally, after only a year and a half and two schools away from his home school, he managed to be put back into the "normal" school population, along with his friends that he'd so desperately missed. Things picked back up from there, only to come crashing down in the summer of Grade 8. His giftedness had allowed him to enter an accelerated program which allowed him to partake in two high school courses while still in elementary, the second half of Grade 8. Things went marginally well, though the courses weren't completed all that well. Rather suddenly for him, however, on the day prior to his exam, coincidentally father's day, his father passed away suddenly. Numbed by this, the husky stumbled through the exams, scraping through a pass on the credits.
Coming out of the crisis, he'd changed a fair bit. Less aloof and silly with his attitude, he adopted his father's slightly more sullen humour, based irony and sarcasm, not to mention self-referential humour and black/gallows humour. Even so, he'd found himself adopting a "find humour in everything" mentality, if only as a way to cope with everything. His circle of friends grew into high school, as his personality toned itself down and he became more aware of other people's limits. This is also where he began to really become able to explore his future interests and passions. This mostly manifested itself in the auto shop, where tinkering and fixing were the items du jour every day. Shifting away from his previously science-focused loves, his fascination with vehicles flourished, and his career path began to form itself. As a result of a desperate need for a filer course in his third year, his current hobby also manifested. Photography. Enamoured with the technological method of expressing himself artistically, something he found himself mostly unable to do outside of writing, he fell in love with the camera, mostly the film sort. In the final year, he met his mate, Ziel, online, and rather quickly on in person. What began as something to simply be a "Friends with benefits" sort of thing became something much more when he fell for the monster, and a simple question was met with a simple, wondrous reply. Also in his final year of public schooling, he managed to gain a spot in the local bus company's garage as a mechanic's apprentice, graduating into the position, which he currently works to this day, aspiring to become a fully certified journeyperson sooner rather than later.
