Born in Dufftown, Scotland, Cole grew restless living in a small rural area and left seeking adventure. Eventually he found his way to England, working in a variety of dead-end jobs until a chance encounter with Kobi lead to him becoming the band’s guitarist and lead songwriter. Indeed, it is his songs that are the most fondly-embraced by critics and fans.

However, Cole was also a drug addict, like his late brother, and an overdose eventually landed him in hospital, and then a rehab clinic. After he was declared clean, and not wanting to face the temptations of the rock and roll lifestyle that nearly destroyed him, he decided to fake his death, enlisting the aid of Nathan, the group’s most prolific roadie and sound technician, to do so. For a year he took a job at the rehab clinic, dedicating his time to his other great love in life; gardening.

Eventually he was tracked down by his ex-girlfriend and current band manager, Mina, who persuaded him to come out of hiding and give the band another chance. Though unsure at first, he has settled back into the group well, especially with Fermac, his best friend in the group. He can be seen as rather uptight and work-obsessed, and can get irritated by the excesses of the others, but he is a firm believer of music being about the music, and it’s largely his dedication to his craft that holds the band together.
